Pride Celebrity x. Batteries drain quickly despite new full charged batteries. When scooter is pushed in freewheel- brakes engage every few feet. Have to turn scooter on/off to get brakes to release.

hi Diane, the brake engaging is by design, distance is the key here

Have you tried another charger ?

1. when pushing the scooter in freewheel before the brake engages , is it easy to push ? what can happen is the brake does not release 100%, a easy test is to run the scooter then put your hand on the brake unit , is it hot ? be careful because it could be very hot , this will prove the brake is not releasing fully.

One wheel is locked as though a break is on i have put oil round the spindle but seems siezed up

Depending on how long it sat, it may be the brake is locked up. The fix depends on if it is disc or drum, but there could be other causes to this problem too. Have you tried reversing? As you may be needing the scooter, you may not be able to do the testing needed, so getting someone physically capable would help. I do not recommend trying to force it - it could be more than a bearing or brake lock up, and forcing could potentially ruin the scooter. As there are too many different configurations to be able to diagnose here, your best bet may be to take it to an experienced pro for repair. I understand funds are likely tight (like they are for most of us it seems) but repair would likely be cheaper than replacement.
Hope this helped!!

Cant start my Celebrity X scooter. Seems to drop into free wheel on power demand.

Are there any fault codes? if so check your manual. Is the speed setting turned down low?. The click is the brake releasing so that's ok. Motor brushes may need attention.

Remove up and lower plastic cover, on the back of the bike. Just give them a pull, toward the back of the bike. They are just fixed with plastic clips.
It's very easy and handy. For the light bulbs they come off with a quarter twist. :)

Shoprider laid up for a couple of months Now only goes click

Hi Nigel. Sounds like the brake assembly ( Free-wheel ) is not releasing. Can you manually release the free-wheel and push to scooter? If you cant push it the the brake solenoid might be the fault. I have had a few over the years that have done this. The resistance through the coil should be approx 50 ohm's.
Otherwise the motor might be burnt out. Motors that are burnt out give a very distinctive burnt varnish smell. Good luck. Neil.

Led Flashes 5 times - Brake in freewheel or brake connection problem. How can I fix this?

Pull the key out of the plug or key switch. There is a freewheel/brake release lever sticking out of the top or back of your scooter on the driver's right hand side. Push this handle the opposite way it is now and try the scooter. If this does not work, repeat the steps above. It is important to do this with the key out of the unit or it will not reset.

Where is battery located on burgman 400 scooter

Open compartment just below the instrument cluster with the ignition key. on right hand side is a small cover held on by jis (Phillips) screws. Remove the panel and the battery will be in plain sight with the terminals at the front bottom. Remove the retaining clips and leads and then you can take out the battery and charge or replace. Reverse the process to replace.

Hi - sorry to hear that the endine is not fit. As far as a replacement is concerned, you don't say which country you are in. Here in UK there are a number of dealers that deal in crashed/repairable bikes - they can be found in the ads at back of motorcycle magazines. Also, we have magazine called Exchange & Mart that is OK for speares (but Nurgman is fairly rare bike). Other place is eBay. As for other sizes, my understanding is that the frames of the 250 (possible replacement) and 400 are not same. 650 definitely will not fit.
