Question about 2000 Harley Davidson FXD Dyna Super Glide
Two bolts on the side of the battery case which lower the box which holds the battery then the battery can be disconnected and removed

I believe the battery is on the right side of the bike on this model. To remove it, first remove the seat. One bolt at the rear of the seat, lift and pull to the rear.
Then, there are two bolts on the frame just to the rear of the battery box. Loosen these two bolts, do not take them all the way out.
Now, from the top of the bike where you took the seat off, you'll see a bolt directly behind the battery on the inside of the frame. This is a "jack bolt". Loosening the bolt, turning counter clockwise will lower the battery and allow you to remove the top and side covers and get the battery out of the battery box.
Whenever disconnecting a battery, disconnect the negative side first. When reconnecting the battery, reconnect the negative side last.

2003 is single fire. If you buy anew tach, it will come with instalation instructions. With a little common sence, it's pretty easy.
