Question about 2008 KTM 450 SX-F

My bike feels like it s missing when i give it gas. it wants to bog but then gets going does it almost everytime i hit the gas

I got a 2001 400sx ktm it run like **** i cleaned bike it run great befor it not getting enof gas

My ktm has plenty of spark but is flooding itself out everytime it is fired. Sometimes it will run for a bit then bog out. Other times it will start and just run for a few seconds then bog out. The plug is...


Thank you for contacting FixYa with your issue.
Usually when it comes to excessive fueling or gas overflow we should start by looking at the float or the needle valve turning of the fuel actuated by the tab on the float turnoff. Chances are the bike was stored over the winter and the gas shellacked up and the float or needle valve is sticking (or possibly hanging in the open position in this case) .
Remove or disassemble the carburetor and clean the the jets, the float valve, (confirm the mini spring is properly connected and attached). Check the float to make sure it's operative and nothing is bent or dented so it's hanging. Give everything a thorough cleaning and air blow with with pressure can.
If the jetting has been changed out go back to stock jetting. Check to make sure the Thumbscrew for the air jet hasn't vibrated off. Should be out about 1 1/2 turns from the home position.

I have a 2004 kx250f. The first ride of the year I noticed my bike bogged in the air and a little when I landed. When I get on the gas hard I dont feel it. Whats going on?


If the bike sat up for the winter, it's a real possibility the carb jets and fuel passages are gummed up. If this is the case, I recommend 1/4 to 1/2 can of SeaFoam added to your fuel. Lock down the front brake and rock the bike back and forth to mix the additive with the gas. Crank the bike and run at high idle for a few minutes, and since it is rideable, ride like you normally do and see if it gets more responsive after an hour or so.

I HAVE A 1999 HONDA CBR600F4. IT HAD BEEN SITTING FOR 2 YEARS AND HAD BAD GAS IN IT. I REPLACED THE BATTERY, REPLACED THE PLUGS, CLEANED OUT THE CARBS WITH CARB CLEANER. GOT IT TO RUN AFTER ALOT OF STARTS....


first,your over heating the starter, hope its still good. 2nd, running carb cleaner thru will not clean the whole carb, only lite deposits. You need to pull the jets, and clean then, thats where your problem is. Jets have a very small hole to atomize the gas, and need to be clean.

I have a Shindiawa T-27 weedeater.Everytime i give it gas,it stalls.Idles fine but stalls as soon as you hit the gas.i put clean gas a new plug in it no good.


Depending on how old this unit is, you should be able to adjust the hi/lo speed needles on the carb. If it is so new that they have a strange head rather than a screwdrive slot, you will have to experiment to find something that will turn them. Sounds like you are not getting fuel when you open the throttle. Other than that, probably a carb cleaning would be in order.

When turning the fuel needle, you just want to turn it about 1/4 turn then try to give it the gas. You are going to be turning it out, or counter clock wise. Once you get it so that the engine will rev, try giving it fuel 2 or 3 times very fast. If it bogs down or acts like it is going to die, adjust the needle a bit more.

but would start fine. I took the head off again too check it out. That is everything loked fine rebvuilt it this time went like a rocket. Couple of mates came down for the weekend rode all day Saturday and was racing with a Gas Gas 200 which it beat. Later Sunday afternon it starts missing tenderly chanbged plug, chewcked carb both fine. The bike did get me home suonding like it was about to run out fuel then would go like hell for a few secvonds before chugging alone again. Seem to go back to what it was like after the rebuild. The only thin I can think of is a electric problem.,I had the carb a part today & gave it a good clean, also droped the gear oil & which was fine. I did think it was the power vale at the very start of the prolbem but as the bike ran like a demon for the best part of two days it can't be that. Finally I stated first kick today and I took it for a rip around the garden. Seemed ok ravin fine not missing then when I was giving it gas in third it would start to miss. I have not got a clue what is wrong with it now and I am not keen to admit defeat and take it to the bike shop at 40 U.S and hour. ,,,
