No spark from the coil

Could you take a picture of the coil pack showing the wires to the coil! Is there an after market alarm/immobiliser fitted? ? If you can probe dc supply to conform, you'll need someone to crank the engine while you test for power supply. .. also comfom fuel pump is running as immobiliser *if* fitted cuts power to both...

My 1989 rm 250 has just had a rebuild and is running fine but it wont go into the band

If you are referring to the power band, this is when your reed valves open.Check for cracked or damaged reeds. You need to remove carb and reeds are between carb and cylender.Check also the rubber boot that carb attaches to for cracks.this will cause intake air leak and cause reeds to not open properly.

I have a 1989 nissan 4 cylender pick up and i am trying to hook up a rpm tach i am trying to figure out witch side of the coil is - neg to hook the green wire up the coil is not marked.

hook a volt meter up to it paying attention to the red and black
terminals of the tester , turn the ignition on to power up the coil
red on the right terminal black on the motor it should read + V
then switch the tester leads around check again , usually the
coils are marked not the wires .

My RM 250 won't spark. The engines been taken

Things to check are

1/ Short out plug wire to good earth to check for spark, if none check rest of sequence. If spark, replace spark plug.
2/ Next check wiring connectors from the ingition module to coil and ensure they are all tight.
3/ This is quite technical but the use of a digital / analogue meter is required.
4/ Place a meter on each wire to the coil and crank (Without spark plug in) there should be some voltage / current flow through the feed wires (Not the earth - Black) If nothing trace back to Generator.
5/ Forgot to mention the kill switch operation, if unsure bridge these wires together.
Other than that the other tests involve sound electrical knowledge and is beyond the scope of the average person.
A thought, if this model has a battery ensure its fully charged.
