I just got the same snowmobile given to me a few months ago and am going through some problems as well. The general rule my friend tild me for adjusting the carbs is to turn the screws for the fuel all the way in, then back them out 1 1/2 turns. from there any carb will work and just needs fine tunning. Right now i just rebuilt my fuel pump but am not getting spark. Hope to have that fixed tommorow. if so ill let you know of any thing i come across with carb issues, hopfully it just runs finnally good luck

Just put billet intake and 34mm carbs mikuni on rz and it bogs down every time I take off ? Before I added these it ran faster with stock carbs and intake.. What's the problem?

Check main needle clip position on top of needle. May need to lower clip 1 notch or make sure all vacuum hoses and lines are connected properly. Also make sure intake is seated properly, sounds like it could be losing vacuum somewhere.

Pw 50, cleaned air filter, put new plug in,bike starts fine, then feels like choke is on and bogs down, plug is wet ,smells of petrol,,,,no power , tried running to clear through ,sputters then sounds...

cover up the drilled holes this can cause problems, why was a new carb fitted? did the shop have it running?
not likely rings .
check carb for flooding and correct jet sizes.
check safety kill\start\run switch for shorts.

Changed from standard air box air cleaner to pod

Going to the manufactures specs or anybody's specs for that matter won't help you, you have interrupted the air flow, Get an adj jet from Dyna flow, I did the same thing, went back to the oem specs and still wouldn't run. Got a Dyna flow kit and off it went. Those things are expensive but worth it. Plus they are adj. And you get a free dyno check if you ever find somebody with a dyno tester. My Mikunis were a little newer, but I'm sure they got something. I found mine on Ebay. Hope this helps.

How do I adjust a Mikuni roundslide carb. Thanks

Turn the air screw and the throttle screw inward until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each of them outward one and one half turns. This is the factory setting. You might want to clean the carbs. After cleaning, before you put the slide back into the carb, move the clip on the jet needle downward one notch. This will richen the fuel mix and help with the bog.
