Well we sean them go bad about 20,000 miles if they look good then then i would just check them every 10,000 hope this help some guy will make it to 50 000 and do the head work at that time that harley recomendation on the head work

Hl Dennis, adjusting them is no problem, getting to the handlebar clamp is a bit more tricky. I have found a few sites that can walk you through it. Read all of them, especially the first one there is one section called " handlebar installation" you can clik on that is very helpfull. Torque your clamp to 20 ft lbs. Good luck and enjoy the vide

Primary drive chain seems lose


Your Big Twin primary chain should have 3/4" to 7/8" up and down travel when the engine is cold. As the engine heats up, the aluminum expands and the chain should have 5/8" to 3/4" when hot. Take the inspection cover off to check the tension. If you have an adjustable primary chain tensioner, loosen the nut and lift the adjuster to tighten the chain.

Where is the circuit breaker for a 2004 electraglide CLASSIC harley davidson


Hi Hend1662, 1992 and later Touring Models, fuel pump fuses and relays will be behind the right side panel, starter and ignition relays will be under the seat behind the battery, everything else will be behind the left side panel to access fuses pull back on the front two locking tabs and slide the cover up. How do you install a stster on a 2002 harley davidson electraglide


The stater is connected to the crankshaft on the left side of the engine
Drain primary oil
Remove outer primary cover
Remove clutch ,clutch hub (puller needed)
clutch hub is reverse thread
remove compensating sprocket on crank.
remove chain adjusting rubbing block
pay att. to position as if at the end of adjustment you may want to replace chain
remove chain with hub/sprocket
remove rotor
unplug wires from stator
remove stater.
you will need a clutch hub puller
check chain for wear replace if needed
check rubbing block for wear

How do i adjust the drive belt on the 03 ultra classic electraglide


Loosin the rear axel bolt and turn the adjustment screw in on both side the same amount on both side's. Then tighten the axel nut back down to what the spec foot pounds that the manuel calls for.
