Hello, lots of older triumps air filter were bolted on the back of carbs, i believe the newer ones is under the seat in a box, just about where the driver sets. also i would put new plugs in too, another thing is , run the mid grade gasoline, nothing that has methanol in it. the other gasoline that their making now is clogging up the jets in carbs, lots of people having problems with carbs that are stopped up because of what their putting in gas these days i was told buy a harley davidson mechanic to run the mid range gas in atvs, motorcycles, lawnmowers, car, so on.

Hi i have a 2003 honda vtr firestorm just wondering when cam chain and tensioner should be changed .Also at what intervals should bike be serviced.

Manufacturer recomeds tensioner @ 40k but please change them at 35k. My rear tensioner failed @ 40150 ks and two bent valves, valve stem seals, head gasket + the two 50$ tensioners + labour, i was back on the road.
as for the servicing i personally have been doing 5k oil and 10k oil and filter change. As long as the service intervals are with in six months apart i dont think you wil have a problem. If you dont do many k's change your oil at least once every six months-oil is cheap.

Hi, I have an Touareg 2007 V10tdi 60.000km. The 'big service' was carried out like 15000km ago and now the oil lamp start to blink that I need to fill up the oil. The problem is, that I am out sea for...

15000kms is a lot of mileage and i would expect it to burn some oil in this period ,i would suggest that oil is changed every 6000kms with a oil filter every third oil change ,use the cheapest oil you can buy from supermarket for a petrol/turbo diesel engine and you will never have problems with the internal workings of the engine caused by clagging up of black hard carbon

I recently bought a 1999 Toyota Camry and am going to give it an oil change. I'm wondering if it's worth it to pay extra for the oil-change package which includes chassis lubrication or not. Are there...

Hello! Welcome to FIxYa. Please allow us to assist you.

To answer your question...
No. It is not worth it to pay extra for the chassis lubrication, because there are no places to lubricate.

Everything in the suspension on your vehicle is sealed. There are no grease fittings anywhere to lubricate.

They are doing nothing more for you, other than trying to take your money. Don't let them. In fact, seeing that they are willing to sell you a fake service, I would take my business elsewhere, if I were you.

Thanks for coming to FixYa, and asking for the true story today. We hope that we have helped you out, and saved you some money in the process.

I just bought an 03 td4 gs freelander and the oil on the dip stick is black, this is my first diesel car so not sure if this is o. always had petrol and it's like golden syrup in them? :-)

diesel engines do run dirty if this was my car i would change the oil and oil filter as a mater of corse, at lest you will know its been done then, also change the fule filter and have a look at the air filter as well
diesels dont like dirty fule or partly blocked filters, for what they cost its well worth the effort if you have only ever run a petrol engine you will find that the diesel need more servicing more often if you leave it unserviced the engine wont last as long as it could so dont skimp on the servicing or you wont be saving pennies you will be spending pounds
