awesome bike that i bought yesterday after needing to slow down from my GSXR days. Well happy with it apart from oil p1ssing out of what i realised is the cylinder head base gasket. Got it home yesterday and after drying out from another glorious day's riding in the p1ssing rain and noticed my boot was covered in oil (on right boot - rear brake side just behind exhaust route). The question i need answering is will a quick fix of unbolting the cylinder head and putting some decent gasket sealent in the gap made by the missing piece of gasket fix it or is this area under massive pressures? I'm guessing its not subject to too much pressure cos the piston rings dont go down that far I assume? The oil is just spitting out a fine spray Just need to know whether i can get away with this as a temp fix rather than having to do a full top end strip down which i don't really want to be doing at this stage.replace the gasket before it gets worse and gets on to ur rear tyre,,

Hi and welcome to FixYa,
It would seem you posted twice, pls try here, here or here. In some, the wiring diagram is part of the Service Manual. If the year is different, most harness/wiring would be relatively similar.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

This is for a 2000 400/640 ignition for KTM 640 lc4-e. Looking from the perspective of rider seated on motorcycle we have the following colour coded wires going from left to right.: 1. r/w (red/white) 2. bl (blue) 3. o (orange) 4. g (green) 5. ge (Yellow) .6 g/s. (green/black). Hope this can steer you in the right direction Brisenod. From Flabbycat

Download a free service manual at the site below. Your manual is 9th on the KTM list. The wiring diagram may be in the manual.

Is the bike at stock condition?
Check the carb and the charging system.
You should measure 13,5-14V at your battery in 3000rpm with your high beams on.
