I have the same bike and love it. i use a ngk iridium plug and it works perfectly. i run mid grade gas 89 or 93 with royal purple 2 stroke oil and i also use royal purple crankcase oil for the bottom end. never had an issue.

i am a mechanic and own my own shop and use royal purple in all my rebuilt engines and race engines.

good luck and love that bike man.

could be valve needs set. if it isn't opening at the right time it wont release compression for it to start. it may be the shear key in the flywheel has sheared if you have hit something like a big rock or log or something causing it to die suddenly.

How can i get engine started

Make sure the spark plug is connected
Use only highest octane gas
throw out /drain any old gas from last year
check and add oil
change the spark plug
clean the air filter or replace it
check that fuel injection lines and port holes are not plugged
if that does not work go to dump and get a new one cheap from discarded mowers that had a cheap broken deck.

What is the cause of detonation noise ?

Wrong spark plugs?
Make sure you use iridium plugs by NGK or Denso.
NGK V-Power Plugs BKR5E-11

Carbon Buildup?
Get some Techron and run several tanks

Wrong Octane?
Your engine should use regular gas. But you might be getting some low grade gas. You can try using a higher octane fuel. Or try adding a octane booster.

Gas in oil

Not suppose to be, but happens, remove the spark plug, and run the starter about 30 second, to clean the cylinder. Clean the spark plug and try to start it. When it's start it will smoke, but do not worry it will be OK, after a sort time. Good Luck

1999 accord ex knocking really bad.Should I replace the spark plugs and put in a higher octan gas

No, the condition of the spark plugs will not provoke a knock. Also, do not put higher octane gas than recommended for you accord. Higher octane will not cure a really bad knocking condition, just a mild one under hard acceleration. In all probability, the knock sensor is malfunctioning, or the computer is getting erroneous readings from the timing sensor. Both possibilities can be determined with a computer scan.

I have a Ford Ranger that when I use low octane gas it rattles

This could be as simple as changing the spark plug gaps, Also if you have and adjustment on the distributer {not a coil pack setup} you may wish to ****** it about 2 degrees. Remember we are here to help. Good luck

I have a 05 nissan sentra and it rides great, but the gas mileage is terrible only getting approximately 18-20 mpg. What may be the problem. I upgraded the gas octane.

you need to change the spark plugs and wires to properly burn the gas fully then you can just get agood oil change and you would get better gas mileage

The vehicle was starting fine, and yesterday day it was cold here around 10 with wind chill factor. I drove the car to work fine, and then when I went to start it at the end of the day nothing. We...

Well a new set of spark plugs is in order. The fuel most likely has fouled the spark plugs. It is fireing is it not?Fuel octane boost with tune up(ngk brand spark plugs)air filter and a gas dryer(HEET).will help. But do the tune up,if the engine has ignition spark. If you are using anything but the oil specified for the beetle, then change the oil and use the weight the manufacture specifies for the vehicle.I feel,if the engine ignition is fireing, that if you do all these things, and use the octane boost, and the heet additives, the car will perform.
