This is a question asked about a decade too late, unfortunately. The 1996-1998 Standards, Tour Classics, and Tour Deluxes benefited greatly from Yamahas' decision NOT to offer the VMax in Europe and Asia with V-Boost - leaving non-US customers some 50+ horsepower down. The VMax had the look BUT they were being blown away by any literbike on the market, and, worse yet, couldn't compete with the Honda V65 Magna, a bike similarly styled and engineered, introduced four years earlier, and thoroughly "shaken out".

Aftermarket to the rescue! Big Air kits, cams, titanium lifter buckets, four-into-four low restriction exhausts, high-capacity water, oil and fuel pumps, tunable ignition systems, oversize front and rear shocks and springs - the best part for Royal Star riders was that many of the accessories were available for their bikes, because of the similarities between the 1200cc VMax and 1300cc Royal Star engines and suspensions.

Now, however, the older VMaxes are historic footnotes, and the Royal Stars haven't received anything but cosmetic upgrades since 1999. The market for Royal Star performance parts in the U.S. is mostly nonexistent; the bikes are usually bought for touring or cruising duties, not stoplight-to-stoplight bashes; reliability, comfort and appearance are the Royal Star's strengths.

I owned a 1998 Tour Deluxe, and searched the Internet for the parts I had used to personalize it. The two survivors of the last decade seem to be: Baron Stealth Big Air Kit - $249.95 (http://www.baroncustom.com/), and Dynatek Dyna 3000 digital ignition $289.99 http://www.dynaonline.com/). Competition Cams dropped their cams, springs, and lifters, and both Bub and Cobra dropped their 4-into-4 and 4-into-2 exhausts. Some of the exhausts are still available for 99- Royal Stars, but that's no help for you.

take it to a speed shop that can install a new chip and then set the program correctly.
remember that what you want will cost more in fuel as economy will be reduced.

How I remove the rev limiter from a 1996 chevy pick up 5.7 litre

It's in the program. You can buy a programmer from many sources and reprogram it yourself. What these things do is raise the rpm limit to increase horsepower and torque. The reason for a limiter in the first place is to guard against overrevving the engine and destroying it.

How can i increase the speed on my Buick LeSabre 1994. anything to increase Hp, torque, etc. just overall speed, and is there a aftermarket speedometer that i could fit in the dash to accordant the speed?

you should pickup a book on horsepower, the only good way to get what sounds like what you want is to rebuild the motor with bored out cylinders and bigger pistons, better cam shaft,a less restrictive intake and exhaust, headers, bigger injectors and an change to a performance computer, more fuel supply and pressure.the other way is to install a turbo charger or super charger(will need a better fuel supply system)providing your motor can take the extra stress.and don`t forget your fuel economy will be worse.this all takes money alot of it to do it right.when people ask the cost and what they can do to increase torque and horsepower i always say how big is your wallet as i can do anything if the money is there but you need the commitment.

If it sounds to good to be true. . .

If you could get 500 extra horsepower with a chip your tranny and rear end would never hold up neither would your crank

50 HP increase is HUGE

I want to know how to get more powere out of my shadow

There are as many ways to increase power and performance as there are funds available to spend. In essence it boils down to how much you money do you want to invest. Although due to the limitations of the vehicle in question there is a fundamental limit as to how much performance you can get out of it.
If however you accept the limitations in the steering, suspension, braking and over all horse power there are a couple things that are inexpensive that will give you a little more bang for your buck.

The most important item when considering an increase in performance is the volume of air and fuel that ends up in the cylinder. Any increase in these will give you an increase in usable power. The easiest upgrade is to increase the volume of air with a high flow air filter and ducting. The most common one is from K and N filter. After this an upgrade to the computer control in the form of a "Power Chip" can add as much as 50hp.
Beyond these the upgrade tend to get pricey. Fuel injectors, high volume fuel pump, exhaust header and upgraded ignition components.

You should also remember that it becomes more and more difficult to squeeze out horsepower the higher you go.
After this the only reasonable way to achieve a dramatic increase in power is with the addition of a turbo charger (if your shadow is not equipped with one already), or by adding a Nitrous Oxide System (NOS) to the intake.
This can also cause serious problems though if the engine is not strong enough to handle the increased horsepower.
Hope this helps.

Horsepower of 4.9L and how to increase its Horsepower

go to cliffordperformance.com. read the info and decide what your budget will allow you to buy. if you dont want to tear the engine down, i would suggest that you go on e-bay and get your self a 4barrel intake and a 390cfm carb. add a set of headers and your engine will breathe better, run faster and believe it or not, get better gas mileage than your getting now.
