Hi, Tah_tapas and the usual suspects are:
1. Enrichner system plugged, not properly functioning or improperly operated.
2. Fuel overflow.
3. Restricted fuel supply.
4. Plugged slow jet or passages.
5. Inlet system air leak.

SOURCE: it wont start

tried the electric start first of all and it just made that noise where the engines turning over but just wont start. i then tried the kick start and still nothing. i went back and forth from the electric start to the kick start for about 45 mins on and off but still couldnt get it to start. i did have a similar problem a few months back but after trying for about 15min it started and have had no problems since. i went out again today but still couldnt get it to start and the man who lives next door who knows about motorbikes had a look but he didnt know as he said he doesnt no much about mopeds. i rang a repair place up and asked how much it would be to pick up and they wanted £30 just for picking it up. so what i wanted to know is does anyone know how i could get it going just to get it to somewhere to repair it properly?check wire touch and battery loading,,most common problem in this issue,,,

SOURCE: starting problem my ct100 bajaj

You need to do a few things to make it start.

  1. Replace the spark plug
  2. Set the intake valve clearance at .002"
  3. Set the exhaust valve at .003"
  4. Tighten the cam chain
  5. Make sure the carburetor is clean, meaning all jets are clear. You may need to remove the float bowl to make sure there is no varnish or dirt in bowl.
  6. Your problem is most likely tight valves. The bike gets very hard to start and runs like **** when it does start.
  7. When you go to kick start it check to make sure you have compression, tight valves make you lose the compression and it kicks right through when you attempt to start the bike.

SOURCE: my bike is bajaj wind

Does the gearbox have the proper oil level? This sounds like a piston seizure. Another possibility, must less costly to fix, is possible water in the float bowl on the bottom of the carburetor. There should be a drain -plug on the bowl. Drain the gas from the bowl to remove the water. The water is from condensation in the gas tank. Please rate my answer. tombones49_165.gif

My bajaj caliber 1999 model gives average Consumption of Petrol 45 Km/Per Liter it there any way to increase the avrage

I have a Caliber 1999 model(bought on Jan2000), however it still returns me 58kms per ltrs. Immediately after a service it provides 60-62kmpl. I got around 72kmpl for the first 2 years from 2000-2002, later it gone down to 66-68kmpl for around 4 years. I maintain it regularly, Bajaj dealer where i bought it and later only with bajaj authorized service centers. recently i tried with castrol franchisee, not satisfied, so back to bajaj service center. Whatever your bike how you maintain it and how passionately consider your bike. If you still running your bike so long, You do not allow your bike go to scrap, your eco-footprint is less, especially when i checked my bike it came out far less polluting the environment than many other older bikes. Make sure you replace engine oil and other consumables regularly. Regular maintenance 2-3 months with a good service center. Self clean/wipe it on a daily basis. Maintain/charge battery properly. I change defective parts with OEM items immediately. Keep your engine in good condition, when I see many Pulsars/Discoverers rusting within 2 years and my Caliber is still solid, shining with steel, I just smile myself within....

My caliber bike takes so many kicks to start

several possible reasons for this, all fixable. Replace the spark plug being sure the new one is the right one and also properly gapped. If you don't have a manual, any auto parts store can look up this information. Second, change the air filter. Adequate air is necessary for a quick start. Third, change the fuel filter. Fourth get a bottle of a fuel additive called seafoam. Follow the directions on the bottle and add the right number of ounces to the fuel. Once you have run a couple of tanks of seafoam enhanced fuel through the engine your problem should be solved.

Pickup problem

the chain loosening is a common problem in bajaj bikes. you need to work it on your own. what you can do is stop accelerating suddenly on the initial pick ups..it jerks the chain more and it goes loosened. @ pick up problem, their may be a number of problems. it may be carbon on ur engine head. OR your silencer is choking OR your carburettor needs to be fixed again.. OR your piston rings need to be changed. these are the major defects which usualy come. Hope it works..:))
