They done my Daihatsu terios 1300cc 4x4 2000 model motor changed coil paCks did diagnostic showed normal buT,it's like it's got a flat spot no power

NO NEED TO POST 2 TIMES, JUST ADD COMMENT TO 1 POST 1 CAR , 1 PROBLEM
ENGINE POWER LACKS.(no the turbo 1.3l right>?)
SO WOT FAILS, WIDE OPEN THROTTLE FAILS AND UP HILLS
NOT JUST A SHORT FAST POWER LOST BUT HUGE LOSS.
RIGHT?
is the engine misfiring,? 1300cc gasoline (petrol)
no car spark plugs or wire sets lasted 23 year ever,
so if those are bad you cannot burn all the fuel with bad spark
called gross misfiring
in USA we can scan the pcm see p0300 to po304, but not you
you are not here, and some countries (most) do not use
OBD2 or EOBD scan tools until 2007

engine real name is
engine "K3-VE" DOHC 1297 cc engine 92 PS (68 kW; 91 hp)
DOHC chain drive twin cam, if chain was quiet before it is kinda good
but over 250k miles not. guides fail first

we call it bogging, no misfiring
like walking in to a bog/swamp
a smooth loss of power, not spark failing
cause.s. lots
  1. bad fuel
  2. fuel pressure too low or its filter clogged.
  3. air filter clogged.
  4. map sensor bad or vacuum hose clogged
  5. maf sensor bad or needs cleaning
  6. injectors clogging or even stuck open
  7. VVT FAILING
  8. TPS BAD BUT ONLY CAUSES SHORT TIME BOG (AT THROTTLE TIP-IN BOG)_ THEN FULLY RECOVERS.
  9. THERE ARE MORE, BUT NO SERVICE MANUAL HERE.

Spit and sputter

you are not supposed to adjust the idle, ever. that is the ECUs job.
adjusting it , now, means you have lied to the ECU.
it wont ever be right again. leave that screw alone, its a factory set
adjustement.

nice guess though, very carb like guess. Is common idea... sure...
its EFI. and has Idle speed controls.
if the engine misfires, (yours is) the RPM drops, the ECU tries to
raise idle 2 ways, by opening the ISC and advancing timing.(spark)

this can fail easy , if any EFI engine misfires.
what happens is the ISC has lost control..
lets use 1 example , 1 cylinder is dead, the ISC can NOT fix that. nor idle right.
the solution is to leave the idle alone.
and.
then fix misfire, than last fix the ISC functions.,

but i get ahead of myself......

Did you do the 60,000 mile full tune up as listed in the oper guide?
no? well misfire is going to happen. (new spark parts and filters)

tune it up. if still misfire. we diagnose that 2nd, and fix it.

there are tests for each step. I can show you them, all of them.

there are over 50 causes of misfire.
here is a great list. and is not complete. !!!

one common cause is a leaky EGR main valve
now that guy is very pesky , even stalling engine
every traffic stop.

Engine misfires and emits black smoke

You may still have to do a more thorough cleaning of the carb and all passages. I have not had these problems with mine yet to inform of proper technique and chemicals to use. To err on the side of caution. Remove the carb and clean in a ultrasonic cleaner with a water and simple green mix.

Backfiring through the carbs

Can pull the rear plug on the intake side and it stops misfiring ?????
You have 2 plugs - so, which one ?
But first, sync the carbs, change plugs, check the plug wires for short cut, check if rear and front spark plugs have the same colour.

Need adjustments for 88 model carter 2 barrel carburator. fits 4.2 jeep

To set carb adjustment, first set timing correctly, then put both a vacuum gauge and tach on the engine. adjust one idle screw to highest vacuum reading and highest tach reading, then do the other one. go back to the first and re-adjust again, then the other. I find that if you have a mechanical screw or a solenoid that holds idle speed on the linkage, turn them back so that engine is idling at the lowest possible rpm without stalling before making adjustments, then when finished, bring idle rpm up to recommended rpm using those. On an older carb, usually the idle screw covers have already been removed. If not, you need to remove them before you begin, usually best done with carb on a bench.
