I have a 1995 chevy blazer that i replaced the battery and starter but it won't turn over. Is there a kill switch somewhere that prevents it from turning over? It will start sometimes and then it won't do anything any other time.

you could have a crossed wire somewhere or what could be worse is an exposed wire rubbing against something which could also kill the battery, the starter or in worse cases short out the entire car. i just had a wiring problem with my 89 chevy 1500 and burnt through my wires and just had to replace them but all the things i said is what was told to me while i was rewiring my starter.
If it is not turning over, or the starter is not turning the engine over, you either have a bad battery or a faulty starter/solenoid. AutoZone and Advance Auto Parts will check your battery for free and let you know if it is the problem. They will also check your starter if you pull it out first.
There are some fusible links mounted with the starter on the cable, check to see if they are burned into, pull on them they will pull apart like taffy. Also, check the neutral safety switch ,try in neutral ,see if it will start.Make sure the negative battery cable is good, this can cause the problem also, see if there is 12 volts on the purple wire on the starter solenoid when starting the engine,if not, check the neutral safety switch,if it is good, replace the ignition switch.
The other switch is for your high and low beam head lamps. Lots of the time the switch isn't bad it's self. It more often than not the adjustment of the switch.
check the battery termals to see if that are corrosion free and very tight, thats first thing, check the alternator make sure it is putting out, while running remove the pos. battery termal to see if it stays running, if it stops, the alternator is not putting out, hope this helps you, thanks robert b.
if voltage reulator on alt. does not stop current after battery is charged it will over charge battery abd can drain cell from boiling electrolite out.check 4 bulged battery case(swelling) indication of overchaeging.the start problem could be your starter wires connection.remove starter wires clean contacts and torque respectively.dont forget the ground to motor.sounds like a loose or corroded contact somewhere.
After you replaced the starter did it start? Check that you connectd all of the wires to the starter properly, make sure that they are secure and not corroded, double check that the starter is in correctly and not on a bit of an angle causing it to bind. Then check that all of the fuses are good and that the maxi fuses ( large fuses ) located under the hood are in good condition. also chek any relays that may be in the same fuse pannel as the maxi fuses.
