You probably have a bad switch. If your hi beams work then the fuse is good.

Tail lights and head lights bo thare not working, what is the problem?

There could be several potential causes for both the tail lights and headlights not working and for the headlights turning on the brights when the vehicle is placed in gear. Some possible causes include:
  1. A blown fuse: If a fuse has blown, it can cause the lights to stop working. Check the fuse box and replace any blown fuses.
  2. A problem with the wiring: If the wiring has become damaged or has come loose, it could cause issues with the lights.
  3. A malfunctioning light switch: The light switch might not be functioning properly, which could cause the lights to not work.
  4. A problem with the headlight switch: If the headlight switch is malfunctioning, it could cause the headlights to turn on the brights when the vehicle is placed in gear.
  5. A problem with the dimmer switch: If the dimmer switch is not functioning properly, it could cause the headlights to turn on the brights when the vehicle is placed in gear.
It's recommended to have a mechanic diagnose the issue to determine the cause and recommend the necessary repairs.

No dash lights when headlights are turned on. Everything works fine on my vehicle EXCEPT today the panel lights don't work. Turn signals, hazard blinker, oil gauge, rpm gauge, speedometer, drive shift...

there is a regulator for the display brightness, you may have it turn'd down or it has stopped working;. it controls the brightness at which the dash lights are. usually has a speedo sign on it. goes up and down. it works with the main light and is conecter to them on the same lighting board if it has gone then a new light swtch control switch will be needed.

Headlights only work on bright

i had this happen with my dodge ram 1500. the guy i bought it from put 350 dollar moon lit lights in with leds and they looked impressive but the issue was that they didnt go bright and i could only see 40 feet in front of me and i was sure taping led flashlights would have done me more good that those stupid headlights. then i had the idea of if the brights work and the dims dont then that means no electricity is getting to the dims so i decided to bridge the power from the bright headlight to the dims and it made all four work. now they all work, and only on bright. so im figuring there is a issue with the wiring in the truck. so this is a temporary solution if you really need just plain old lights like i did because i live out in the country

No driving lights?

Hello there - I would suggest checking the fuse for your lights in the fuse box, and check under the hood for a fuse/relay box, and have the relay tested. If the fuses and relays are good, open the hood, and try to check the connection to the headlights and make sure they are securely connected. You also mentioned that when you push the headlights switch forward for brights, and turn on the night time head lights, and neither come on but the daytime lights do, makes me suspect the switch itself may be bad. I would first check the fuses and relays if any. Second, I would replace the bulbs (if replacable). Other than that, my last guess would be an electrical problem in the wiring somewhere. I hope this information helps you fix your lights. Thank you for your time and consideration in my suggestions/answers.

Headlights won't work

relay was stuck.  Now you replace the relay and a few burnt fuses and the burnt wiring.  You should have fixed this at the first warning sign of a problem...sadly, now you pay the price for not doing so.

Daytime Running lights run the battery dead

The Toyota Service Bulletin is 059633, dated March 13, 2003. My 2003 Corolla has the same problem. When the lights were on this morning after a very cold night, I jiggled the headlamp switch and sure enough, the headlights turned on and off. I found that the lights can be kept off if the switch is pushed forward and left in the "high beam" position when the car is off and the weather is expected to be cold. This is easier than pulling the fuse every time, until the switch can be replaced. It worked for me. Hope this helps.
