The bad thing about the internet is that I can't actually hear the noise to identify what it may be. Is it gearbox noise or top end noise? If it is top end, a knocking noise would probably be piston slap. Valves needing adjusting can be noisy also. A worn cam chain can be noisy. It would be a good thing to just ride over to a dealer and let them listen to it in an effort to identify what service may be needed.. No cost in doing that. In all likelihood, the valves should be re-seated and a new set of piston rings installed along with running a hone through the cylinder. This means removing the cylinder head and cylinder.
