    • Locate body grommet for jumper near base of rear seat. Push grommet out and feed jumper completely through hole in body.

  3. Position a fuel approved container, with a capacity of at least 16 gallons, under the drain plug located on the bottom left edge of the tank.
  4. Remove drain plug and allow fuel to drain. WARNING: Drain plug must be installed at this time as there will be 1 to 2 gallons of fuel left in the tank .
  5. When tank is no longer draining, install drain plug. Tighten plug to 32 in lb .
  6. Remove driver's side fuel tank strap.
    • Loosen, do not remove, passenger side fuel tank strap allowing fuel tank fill neck to touch rear suspension cross-member.

I have a 97 dodge stratus. It won't start. Tried

Make sure it's getting fuel. Try using some ether or starting fluid. If it rumbles to life but doesn't stay running then there's a problem with the fuel delivery system. i.e.... Fuel pump, clogged filter, pressure regulator.... If the ether doesn't change the results you are getting now then it's a fire or sensor problem. Ignition coil, relays, sensors not signaling, PCM... I wish you luck. Let us know how it turns out

Instead of changing the filter, is there a drain plug on my 2004 dodge stratus 2.4l 16 valve???

what filter are you talking about? Its always recommended to change your filters, oil filter with your oil change it collects all the **** same with your fuel filter it gets clogged up and you get better gas mileage with a clean filter.

MY 2001 DODGE STRATUS WILL START AND RUN UNTIL THW ENGINE IS WARM THEN SPUTTER AND THEN DIES. WHAT IS WRONG?

Sounds like a clogged fuel filter of a dying fuel pump. Start with the fuel filter, they are usually less than 20 bucks and pretty easy to change. If it persists, check into changing the fuel pump. Good luck.
