I need a piston

I have a 1983 suzuki tempter and need a new piston for the origanal bore, but the local suzuki dealer said that the piston for that bike has been discontinued. Is there any where I might still find one?

While riding my 1983 suzuki tempter 650, the back wheel locked up, and now the motor dont turn, only a little in gear when i try to move the wheel.

Can you fet the bike into true neutral? It sounds like a transmission problem where something broke and jammed the gears. If it locked the engine as well that suddenly, you may well have a problem with the craknkshaft to boot.

1983 Suzuki GR 650 Tempter is firing but doesn't seem to be getting gas. It dies immediately after firing up. What should we try?

Check the jets in the carb, there might be a blockage there, especially the main jets, check that the needle and seat are allowing the float chamber to fill to the correct level, check that the fuel tap and the in-tank filter are clear of any blockage.

A service manual is a valuable tool with an aging bike. I suggest the dealer/mfr. or Clymer books. In the meantime, go to the library reference section...646 stacks should have what you need.

I have fuel and oil coming out of my exhaust. I also have gas,(lots of gas) in the motor. what could the problem be? The engine oil is completely gone, but I know that it was full.

your description leads me to believe you have either a bent exhaust valve, or a leaking head gasket. what may be happening is your intake valves work fine, so the fresh fuel is being pulled into the motor like it should. only when the piston rised to compress the air/fuel, it cant with that leak. so only a portion is actuall being burned, and the leftover fuel is sent out the exhaust. a less likely cause could be worn piston rings or a damaged cylinder sleeve. start by removing the head. you will see if the exhaust valve isnt seating properly. if needed, replace the valve, and definitely replace the valve guide seals. theyre inexpensive anyways. and once your head is off, the cylinders will slide off easily. then you can inspect them for wear or damage. if needed, bore the cylinders and install fresh pistons/rings. if your nervous about taking anything apart, then just have a technician do that work for you. but those are really the only possible causes.
