Question about 2000 Yamaha YZF-R1

Haven't used the bike for almost 2 months now last week walked in the garage and the indicators were flashing, now the led for the alarm is not flashing and the bike won't start. The battery has been kept on a trickle charge. Thanks Willy

What is load testing? Took it off charged it same problem I think that the immobilizer is stuck on as the led at the back of the bike isn't on but the rest of the electrics seem to be working.

Just because the battery has been on a charger does not mean it's any good. I would remove the battery, give it a good charge, and have it load tested. The odds are good you have either shorted a cell, or have sulfated the cells.

    Load test:
I would take the battery into any local parts store and have it tested on a load test machine, or of you feel up to the challenge yourself there are many purchasable variants on the market at tool stores such as Sears, Harbor Freight, Snap-On Truck, etc. The tool is basicly a big "toaster". It operates on the same pricipal as a toaster, and is used to apply a heavy load to a battery while measuring the battery's ability to deliver amperage while under a load. Simply checking the voltage does nothing, however, looking at the voltage while applying a load... That lets you know if a battery is good or not.

Alarm led indicator wont stop flashing unless i unplug the 12+ wire

Most alarm indicators have an LED that flashes as a theft deterrent. It says "Hey shady guy, this car has an alarm." The 12+ wire is possibly power to the whole alarm (depends on where you're unplugging it), so unplugging it might be disabling the alarm. The light is most likely operating as intended and uses VERY little power so it won't drain your battery unless your car sits for weeks at a time.

On the back of the garage door opener there is a red button. Depress this button and sync your keypad to the opener. This will re-establish the code and reset the remote.

Hi now knowing what the bike is, simply remove the relay bridge the 2wires and using the switch select left or right it wont flash but it will elimenate the relay if the indicators light as selected the circuit is working correctly andt the relay is faulty, have you tried disconecting the rear indicators, and check if the front ones opperate as normal left when selected and right when selected obviously they wont flash but this will elimenate any short circuit in the rear wireing, do you have a multimeter? Disconect all the indicators, and the switch and flasher relay, with the ignition turned off check for continuaty between the live feed from the front left indicator and the rear right indicator, this will elimenate a short circuit in the live wires you should have no
continuaty then check its not going to earth, check between front indicators live, and rear earths you should have no connection reconnect the relay and do the same test

Hi, led will only light if they are wired in the correct order, earth to earth and live to live, you have replaced the switch to no avail, the only thing left is the flasher relay, this type of indicator must be fitted with a relay suitable for led indicators
The original relay would not be suitable causing problems as you have described, it may be you have the correct relay, led aftermarket relays are not so reliable as original equiptment as used with standard indicators, and sometimes burn out as they are solid state an obviouse burning to the silicone backing is a give away to its condition, if it shows signs of burning or any other damage replace it as so if you still have the original one fitted, lastly you dont say which model your bike is, on some suzuki motorcycles the relay is not just. A flasher relay it has multi functions and correct wireing of the relay is not so easy, unfortunatly suzuki is the only manufactor that specific led flasher relays are not listed for and a universal 1 must be used with the above difficulties

Bike won't start

the first i always check when a bike doing what your talking about is safety switchs side stand, clutch and neutral. If any are not working the bike won't start, lets say as example bike is in gear side stand is up clutch pulled in but the but won't start, if the clutch switch is broke or worn the the bike thinks that you want to start it in gear without the clutch and it won't even turn over. The other thing to check is you kill switch, sometimes you'll get dirt and it can hold moisture, cause rust
