Headlight problems I have a 2002 chevy silverado. I can't get either of my headlights to come on. When I turn my switch to manually turn on the headlights my tailights come on but no headlights. My high beam indicator is constantly on and won't turn off even if I pull the lever back. I have changed out my headlight relay because it looked burnt and have checked all the fuses in the fuse box and they are all fine. All the bulbs appear to be fine too.

But if that switch was bad wouldnt my headlight still come on just have my high beams on all the time?

Hi. That sounds like the Low/high beam switch is malfunctioning and in need of replacement. I believe this because the headlights will not come on no matter which power source is attempting to activate them. Clearly, they are not getting power. Since the high-beam indicator light is functioning and indicating HIGH BEAM it IS getting power, There is no further interruptions in that circuit, save the fuse. IF the fuse is good,.. tested good.... Then the switch is bad, if the fuse is bad... replace it. If this doesn't solve the problem You have blown all your headlights simultaneously, or lost all the connectors to the headlights all at once, or possible got so unlucky as to lose all connectivity to just the headlights magically. I'd bet the fuse if I didn't believe that you would have checked that before posting the question here, and that doesn't account for the indicator to be stuck, so.... This pretty much leaves the switch ol buddy, sorry.

Headlights only turn on after ignition off

Based on your description, it sounds like the issue may be related to the headlight switch or the relay that controls the headlight circuit. The headlight switch may not be sending the correct signal to turn on the headlights when the ignition is on, but the relay is still working to turn on the headlights when the switch is in the on position and the ignition is off.
It is also possible that there is a problem with the wiring or connections in the headlight circuit. This could be causing the switch to not receive power or the relay to not receive a signal to turn on the headlights.
I would recommend having a professional mechanic diagnose and repair the issue. They can use their diagnostic tools to check the electrical signals in the headlight circuit and determine the root cause of the problem.

1990 chevy silverado no running lights no dash lights

If the fuses are good, I would check for power in and out of the headlight switch. The parking lights and dash lights are on two different circuits but controlled by the headlight switch.

Where is the fuse for the headlights for a 1988 chevy silverado

The headlights are not fused, they have a circuit breaker built into the main headlight switch on all GM built cars and trucks. If the headlights are not working most likely the headlight switch and connector will be burnt out, the contacts will be discolored and the connector smell burnt, replace both, the parts are fairly cheap

Doom & under dash lights will not turn off

Try this, remove the trim that covers the headlight switch, use a flat tip screwdriver and depress the tangs holding the headlight switch in place, pull the headlight switch toward you along with the wires, unplug the headlight switch from the electrical connection, if the dome light goes out, chances are you have a bad headlight switch. Good luck, Gary
