Hi i was riding my yamaha yz125 2001 and it cut out now it doesnt have bareley any compression what so ever ! IT WILL NOT START PLEASE HELP :( WHAT DO YOU THINK THIS IS ?

i need help please i have a 2000 yamaha bear tracker 250 i did a top job on it i replaced the piston and rings but didnt put a new head gasket i put it back together and she wont start soundss like it doesnt have enough compression any ideals and also i dont know how to set the timing can anyone help me out please

That's a fuelling problem
Sounds like she has been laid up for a while -
If more than 5 or6 months then you'll have to drain & replace the fuel from both the tank & carbs
If over a year then you may need to strip the carbs

It could just be sticky floats - try adding a carb cleaner to your fuel

Could be a fouled plug. Did you check that? Is it a 2 stroke?

it needs a set of rings and maybe a piston then it will be like new again

change the spark plugs first always and if that doesnt help you will need to do a compression test while you have the plugs out if they test 90 psis or more then you need to put carb kits in it just because it runs at dry dock doesnt mean it doesnt have low compression but dont get discuraged it may just need carb kits

hi there matey,, if she starts perfect wen shez cold ,,and u ride her up the road till shez hot,, does it start misfiring while u are riding it,then a quick check will be needed, if it does misfire then soon as she misfires while riding,,kill the engine and wip out the spark plugs and check wot the colour of the plugs are,, they should be a biscuit brown colour ,,either 1 and 4 plugs or 2 and 3 plugs will be the same ,, if say 1 and 4 are not a brown colour then u need to change that coil to 1 and 4,, at the end of the day mate ,, if she doesnt start wen hot ,,its usually a coil that is the prob,, any more help u need come back,, cheers
