Hi:
Your brake fluid reservoir is located on the back wall of the engine compartment, on the drivers side, and is approximately right in front of the brake pedal. It is a opaque plastic reservoir with markings on the side, and the top unscrews or pops off to top it off.

Why does it have trouble stopping?

it sounds like the brake servo isn't working but you should still have some better brakes than you dascribe so i would also check the master cylinder , whick is connected directly to the servo , quick check ,engine running remove, brake fluid resovoir cap, pump brake pedal and get some to look into the fluid resovoir and tell you is there are air bubbles or not , if bubbles most likely a seal has blown if no bubble then most likely a mechanical part of the brake system ie master push rod at fault , either way i'd get a mechanic to check as you dont take chance's with brakes

Where can I find a diagram for where to put clutch fluid?

You don't need a diagram. There should be a small resovoir close to the brake resovoir. Look for a black or white cap the says either use only DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid. They usually only have 1 line running from it. Don't over fill it, if it is empty you will need to bleed the system. Aldo don't get brake fluid on your car's paint, it will ruin it.

Woke up found my jaguar 2002 X type (petrol) clutch pedal on floor. No signs of leakage of fluid. After pumping clutch up and down several times, clutch returns. A few mins after no clutch.

sounds like the concentric clutch slave cylinder is faulty/leaking, is there any sign of fluid loss from the resovoir, it uses the brake resovoir for its fluid supply, the leaked fluid is probably in the flywheel houslng, big job to change. front subframe has to be removed, if its a 2.5 or 3.0ltr transfer box also.

I went to start my car today and pushed the clutch in and it went straight to the floor on my 06 chevy cobalt ls. Can you help?

Check the fluid for the clutch. It has a small master cylinder next to the brake master cylinder. It should use brake fluid. If it is low, top it off. If it goes low again, you'll need to investigate where it's leaking from. You could have a leaking master or slave cylinder.

Brake warning lights stay on when i press the foot brake .the brake lights work ok .

You may just need to fill the brake resorvoir with brake fluid, when you are NOT pressing the pedal the fluid in the resovoir is low and the light comes on.

When you DO press the brake pedal you are forcing brake fluid level to go higher and this tells the sensor in the resovoir that the resovoir is full.

96 beretta brake light on but car is running fine

The brake light is probably on because your brake fluid is low. But this is also an indication that you brake pads may also be worn and need replacement. The brake system is designed so when the pads are low the fluid will drop in the brake resovoir and turn on the brake light. So inspect your brake pads or have them inspected. A leak in the brake system could also cause the light to come on. But do not ignore the light and find out why it is on. If the brakes are good and the fluid is low you could add some brake fluid to the resovoir but I would not top it off and if the light comes on fairl quickly then the brake system may have a leak.

Parking Brake

there is a sensor in the brake fluid resovoir. if the fluid gets low, the brake light comes on. i'd say its borderline low and when you go up a hill it goes below the sensor level. add a little brake fluid to the resovoir and see if that helps
