    Sir,

I removed the mirror but the actual mirror mount is psrt of the brake and master cylinder housing. It is one unit and I still can't get to the mounting screws. Do I have to open the master cylinder?

    Sir,

On the drawing that you sent me shows a bolt holding the mirror, my bike doesn't have that bolt. It is a solid peice.

  • mexnavajo Nov 19, 2009

The exploded view that was given to me was not what I have on my bike. It was somewhat helpful.

    Thanks for your help Sir.

Hello. The 2008 suzuki S40 did not have cruise control as an option. I do not believe you can install an aftermarket product on this, but I may be wrong. I recommend that you call a few dealers, speak with their service department guy and pick their brains. If there is a way to do it I am sure one of these techies will know what it is. Good luck with it. Regards, Joe

The mount that the miirror screws into just next to the master cylinder is also the clamp that holds the master cylinder to the handle bar, the bolts face towards the front of the bike, remove the mirror and then re,move the mirror mount, the Master is free to reposition. here is a picture, u can also go the link for a big picture, and yes this is a VS800, the parts are the same as your model.

if there is no camp on the master like the diagram then your master is part of the handle bat Assembly and can't be relocated, there would be no other explanation, have had lots of suzuki's.

Your bike is the same exact bike as the LS650, they share all the same chassis parts, the diagram i gave u is correct, there is a clamp as shown unless it has been changed to a non stock setup, please call me and i can direct to a dealer who can explain this to u. Dennis Phone 925-577-7157

How do I change spark plug of 2005 suzuki s40?

Remove the seat (three bolts). Drain and then remove the gas tank (two bolts in the front, pull backwards and to the left as you simultaneously pull up), and disconnect the gauge harness and speedo cable. Obviously you need to disconnect the fuel line from the tank too.

Now remove the left head cover and you'll have access to the plug.

Battery

i am in the process right now, and am having difficulty. the battery that was purchased does not fit properly; vent tube side would face belt side if terminals are aligned. to access removal of old battery, though, i took of the side panel, removed/unscrewed where owner's manual/tools sit. then, just disconneted bolts from terminals and slid it out.
