Here are a few things to check:
The air filter. If it is dirty, replace with a new one. Also make sure nothing is obstructing the inlet to the air filter.
Valve tappet clearances. Over time, the tappet clearance will diminish and affect performance.
The drive belt and pullys. Make sure there's no contamination on the belt or pullys that could cause slippage (oil, grease, anitifreeze, etc.). Also check that the pully faces move correctly with engine RPM and road speed. If one of the moveable faces is stuck, this will negatively affect the engine RMP to road speed.
Finally, if it has ever sat for a long period of time (a year more more) consider having the carburetor cleaned out.

Wat betekend de foutcode FI op het daschbord van een honda s-wing fes125 bouwjaar 2012

Dutch to an English only forum really?

What does the error code FI on the dashboard of a honda s-wing fes125 year 2012 mean Pentecost 9x'
ahhhhh a HONDA SCOOTER , not a car. or motorcycle.
FI = fuel injection, (errors)
ask shop to fix it.
or buy the service manual and DIY
causes
bad fuel>? old or bad. or wrong fuel put in.??????
on fuel reserve and bad fuel filter?
There is a self diagnosis procedure in the service manual.
there are blink codes to see,.
USA version shows this jumper to get codes (errors )
DLC (Data Link Connector) needs to have the Brown and Green wires shorted
this works like USA 1988 to 1985 cars. same OBD1 blinking toys.
or read this forum on topic

https://www.silverwing600.com/t6784-my-fi-light-came-on

if really a DIY person , own the manual and not get lied to for wrong years, etc, as we see on the web endlessly.
MY post is RTM read the manual for your year scooter .

Is my X8 2006 restricted? And how can I take the restricted off ? It will go to 60mph but wants to go more

Most 125cc scooters are restricted to between 60 and 70 mph often because of certain laws in each country they are sold in. These 'Twist and Go' automatics alway sound like they want to go faster but the transmission needs to rev that high to work properly.
It is possible to de-restrict your scooter but the top speed you would get would not be a lot higher, maybe 10 to 15 mph more.
Scooters also use much smaller wheels compared to a motorbike which makes the scooter less stable at higher speeds. Mine starts to shake and vibrate when it hits it's top speed of 70mph. To get much higher speeds you would need to spend a lot of money changing gearing ratios roller weights or even swapping complete transmissions. One option if you want to keep at the 125cc size is to change to a bike with a manual transmission like the bigger motorbikes. Some of these bikes can get closer to 100mph but most 125cc bikes and scooters all tend to max out at 70mph. At higher speeds the manuals don't sound like they are working as hard as a scooter does.

Starts and runs but will only go 25 top end and 10 going up a hill. I cleaned carb, and changed plug. Filter good. Any help about how what to try next?

Dennis, Write up found in scooter guide.net link below.This scooter was restricted to 25mph via a series of restrictions to the variator, ECU, intake and camshaft. 2009 was the last model year for this CHF50 in Canada and the USA, although this scooter was available for a few years after this due to excess inventory from the 2009 crash of the scooter market.
You can have it modified at a shop probably $$.
Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

How do i derestrict my lifan s-ray 50cc 4-stroke scooter please? forgot to add its a honda based engine and its a 59 plate thanks

Unless you find a small "restricting washer" between the head and the exhaust pipe...Then usually there is no easy means. In the past these "washers" were put in place to reduce performance, the idea was as the riders skills improve the washer can be removed. It also was a way for parents to keep their children from zooming flat out everywhere.

Honda *** scooter, over heat

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

To my knowledge, there would only be a couple of reasons why a 2 stroke engine would overheat:
  • insufficient 2T oil, low pressure on the oil pump, restricted oil tube/hose, clogged/blocked oil injector in the carb;
  • too high a compression ratio, if the new piston is dome, oversized or the cylinder head has been shaved too much;
  • brakes partially engaged;
  • drive belt slipping;
  • clutch slipping.
Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.
