If the oil is leaking when the vehicle is running the rear main seal ,between the engine and transmision is leaking. if not maybe there is a oil pressure switch at the back of the engine leaking ,or the valve cover gasket is leaking near the back of the engine , have the engine steam cleaned then you will see where it is leaking ,

Dodge Durango. Leaking oil right behind the oil filter. It looks like a freeze plug but it's leaking oil.

Freeze plugs only leak coolant. It is likely that the oil is coming from above it.

It has an air cooler. There is a lot of information on Durango oil leaks here

How to fix an oil pump leak on a 2004 ford mustang?

more info is needed on this, but I'll try to help you I will assume that this may be a 4.6 Romeo/ Windsor motor and if it is the oil pump is behind the timing cover and would not show a visible leak unless there is oil leaking from the cover gasket this would be the problem not the pump/next if you jack up the car put it on jack stands safely and look under it at the bottom of the engine there are a couple of things that could cause the leaking oil (1) oil filter loose/or to tight if there is oil all over it clean it off with a rag and let the motor run with the oil at the proper level if its loose or a broken O ring on the filter you will see the oil coming out if so change the filter and tighten till a good snug fit is achieved (2) the oil sender unit could be leaking oil from it this sender is screwed into the oil filter adapter and has an electrical plug on it the sealer on the threads may be leaking and can be fixed by cleaning and applying new sealer or the sender may be bad and needs to be replaced is the oil light coming on steady or on and off at times (3) if you clean everything off and then take baby powder and throw it all over these areas the leak will show up in the powder if you can't find it , if you see oil and antifreeze the green stuff leaking from the same spot behind the oil filter the adapter gasket is leaking be careful here because your cooling system can be clogged causing this gasket to leak go slowly and post back to me what you have done a step by step procedure will narrow this down to the cause I'm a taxi mechanic in N.Y.C. and 4.6's are what the crown Victoria's and Lincoln town cars have it's the same motor you must tell me if this is your motor if not I will still be able to help you further good luck in your search for the leak and do it safely a good jack and stands no junk stuff you'll be under the car and need assurance that you will be safe LATER MAN!

Oil leak

There is a timing cover gasket behind the water pump.
You may have to clean off the block to find the leak. Mechanics can use dye in the oil and a black light.

Oil leak front engine timing chan

1995 Tracker would have a timing BELT. Normal oil leak points (in order) on a Suzuki G16 engine are the distributor base (rear of motor), valve cover (top of motor), front main seal (behind lower timing belt cog) cam seal (behind the upper timing belt cog) and rear main seal. (behind the flywheel). I'd suspect the front main seal or cam seal. I use foot power to help find oil leaks.

Sounds like the rear main oil seal on your motor is leaking. In order for it to be replaced, the transmission has to be removed. Not an easy task for the backyard mechanic.
