Question about 1988 Honda GL 1500 Gold Wing
I have a 1988 1500 goldwing with 63,000 miles. Several times lately when I start my 88 1500 goldwing I hear a very high pitched squeel. Not load but annoying. As I rev the motor up the squeel gets higher with the RPM's also I shut the motor off and try again and most of the time it goes away. The timing belts were changed at roughly 55,000 so I can't imagine that being the issue. Anybody have an idea what the squeel could be
It sounds like a drive belt to me,, its that or a bearing thats a bit dry,,,check the timeing belts are tight and not polished,,,

Testimonial: "Thanks, If it were a bearing, I'm assuming it would be the altenator, because it's the only bearing outside the motor,,, correct?"
Due to the age of this bike I would inspect all the vacuum hoses on the carburators. A small leak can make a kind of whistling sound. This a cheap and easy fix to replace these lines.
