Question about 2000 Harley Davidson FLHR-FLHRI Road king
Didn;t say if a carb or fuel injection as both are fitted stock. The carb can be having troble with the cold starter valve either not closinfg all the way or it's o ring seal being bad. The bike is also bad about blowing the aircleaner housing away from the carb some and the problem can be even worse that you report. The fuel injection system can have too high a fuel pressure and do this and or the fuel pressure regulater could be leaking some. It'll run strong on the gas. and choke out as it idels down. Both will act this way with a vacume leak or the air filter housing loose. The fueler has a vacume hose that can fall off. Low compression and or cylinder inbalance ( compression good in one cylinder and not the other ) Cam timing wrong, Ingition timing wrong. These aren't as likely as the air filter house getting a leak
