Check pulse coil generator system...i had a similar problem and found out that one of the two pickups was burnt. mine was on the left side of the bike under side case cover but i just followed the wire harness up till i got to the first disconnect and ohmd out the four wires looking for 400-450 ohms...well i only got 136ohms on one and the other was completely open. Also make sure your getting 12v to the coil... turn key on and just probe the little wires on the coil till you find it. then you'll know that its not a broken wire at least. Can i get some feed back, Thanks!

Hi, I have a 1982 gsx 1100 Suzuki sitting on the bike from left to right what is the firing order if left coil is 1-3 & right coil is 2-4? thanks

Hi, Nigel "Fast Cat" says all the inline fours are the same in this (that I know of, maybe BMW does it differently, but every Japanese inline-four I ever saw was the same) sitting on the bike, from left to right, the cylinders are 1-4... there are two coils, and the one coil fires cyls 1 and 4 and the other fires cyls 2 and 3. you can swap 1 and 4 or 2 and 3, it makes no difference at all, but you can't put the 2-3 coil on cyls 1 or 4 and vice versa... you should be able to just take the long spark plug wires and put them on cyls 1 and 4 and the shortys go to cyls 2 and 3. Firing order is 1-4-2-3 For more information about your issue and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please click on the links below. Good luck and have nice a day. Hi Dick, this scenario is usually caused by a mis-wiried ignition coil, changing from a single fire coil to a dual fire or vice versa.

I have a 97 suburban i changed timing chain and the truck is not getting any fire to the coil i put a distributer a n pickup coil a new coi and new crankshaft senser and the truck still has no fire at

Do you have battery power at the coil when the key switch is on and when the engine is cranking ?
The rotor on the distributor is turning, right ?

#1 and #4 are not firing I changed the coil pack and still no change any ideas

You said you changed the coil pack and the wires but didn't mention the plugs. Try moving one of the plugs to a different cylinder and see if the miss follows it. It could also be the ignition module. (the thing the coil packs mount to.)

Dude i need both cylinders to fire only one is firing

check power to non firing coil and fire out of coil. spark plug can affect miss fire too. Try swaping coils from 1 cyl to the other and see if problem changes cyl or stays the same.

I have a 1988 1100 katana #1 and 4 is not firing what is it ?

Your coils should be running 1 and 4 and 2 and 3, so the 1 and 4 is shot. Look on ebay for a pair, or borrow one to see if that is the problem Should be it.They go bad. Hope this helps.

I need a coil in #cylender but need to the fireing

If you are triing to find the bad coil simply run the truck and unplug each coil wire connection from each coil one at a time and change the one that dosn't change the way the engine is running. If you have coil over plug type ignition the firing order is controled by the computor and as long as you plug the coils in correctly no firing order is needed.
