Question about 1998 Honda GL 1500 SE Gold Wing
The clicking sound you hear is the starter relay and it is most likely the problem. To confirm this, find the relay and use a large screwdrive to bridge the two big cables that are attached to the top of it. If the starter spins when you do this, then you've got a bad starter relay. If the starter does not spin, then either the starter is bad, or the wiring going to it is broken or corroded.

Testimonial: "Thank you for the response I have tested and it is not the starter I will change the relay switch and see if this does the trick."
I have a 1998 Goldwing SE. I was out riding it last Saturday. While coming up the interstate it just shut down like I had hit the emergency kill button, which I hadn't done. I rolled to a stop and checked the kill button which it was on. The lights was on and everything is on as it should be but it will not turn over. I can turn the key on and bridge across the starter solenoid and the motor will turn over but still will not hit. Any clues?
