Valve adjustment is performed with the piston at top dead center (TDC) of the compression stroke. On the flywheel, there's a "T" mark that indicates TDC. Align the "T" mark and check that all of the valves are closed (this is where they must be to check and/or adjust the valve tappet clearances). If they are not closed, rotate the crankshaft one full turn, aligning the "T" mark again. Now the vwill all be closed.

The timing mark I would like to get

Valve timing or ignition timing?

There is a mark on the crankshaft pulley and marks on the engine block.

For valve timing you need the workshop manual, especially with twin overhead cams.

Does anyone have a diagram for the timing marks on a case g188d diesel engine that I could see

if you know where the timing marks are supposed to be the use the old method of cam/crank timing to check and adjust to where the marks will be. Remove no 1 injector and turn the engine over until no 1 piston is coming up on injection stop when you reach TDC. mark on flywheel of harmonic balancer. If there is valve clearance ot both rockers turn the engine another 180 degrees and bring the piston to TDC again. watch the rockers and if you turn back a few degrees or turn forward a few degrees you will see ( in the forward direction) the exhaust valve closing and at the same time the inlet valve will be opening. This is known as valve rock. As you move the piston bacvk and forward over TDC you will see the valve movement. set on TDC and check the timing marks with the positions indicated. Remove and reposition the cam shaft gear to achieve the correct mark alignment or pull the cam shaft out just enough to realign the teeth to the mark. At the most you will be about 1 tooth out. The pump timing will be out 180 degrees as you are setting the valve timing on the induction stroke and you will need to turn the engine 180 degrees to compression stroke for the pump timing marks to line up. the injection mark on the flywheel is what you are looking for and when it is at the correct number of degrees as indicated by injection / lightning flash sign then the marks for the pump should be just about lined up

Where can I get a diagram for timing for a daewoo

There is 2 possibilities. if it has the marks on the valve cover as in the first picture then use those to align the cam gear timing marks to. If no marks on the valve cover then point the cam gear timing marks at each other as per the pictures then align the crankshaft timing marks as pictured.

Hi . where is the valve timing mark on my kymco-125 hipster cam -sprocket.

the valve timing mark is on the flywheel on the Hipster's.

Remove the large flat blade screw from the top of the left hand side casing. Turn the engine either by hand (using kickstart with ignition off), turning rear wheel in gear, or by removing the "kymco" badge with three 8mm bolts and using a 19mm deep socket on the crank, until you see two marks (one says F one say T) the F one is the advance firing mark, the T mark is the timing mark. Keep turning the engine over and watch your valves, wait for the exhaust valve to close, inlet valve to open and then close again then the next time you see the T line will be TDC. This is where you set your valve timing from.

Were are the timming marks located and what would not make it start

Timing mark is located at the cranshaft cover and it needs to be alligned with the mark on the crankshaft pulley.
What would not make it start is the wrong timing. The correct timing is an association from alligned Timing mark with the piston # 1 at the top together with its intake valve + exhaust valve closed. Hope this helps.

TIMING MARKS

There shouldn't be a problem with the valve covers. The timing marks on the cams point towards each other when it is at TDC.
