1955 olds 88 hei ignition wiring to key and ignition system

Original system has a resistor wire between coil + and ignition key, to reduce voltage and thus increase amps to give fatter spark and increase fuel mileage. For HEI system, this resistor wire must not be used, so run new primary wire straight from switch "run" to coil +. There should already be a wire from the starter solenoid to the coil + to supply full 12 volts when cranking to give higher voltage spark to plugs to help jump the gap better for use while starting. The MSD web site has much more info.

Wires has been cut under dash of a 1997 ford escort need help rewiring so car will run

HOW CAN THE WIRE BEEN CUT,
DO YOU HAVE TILT WHEEL, REMOVE STEERING COVER OD THE IGNITION STEERING AREA, LOOK AT THE WIRES, DO THEY LOOK LIKE SOME ONE CUT THEM OR THEY CHANGE COLORS DO TO A ALARM SYSTEM, IF THEY CHANGE COLOR, COULD BE THE AFTER MARKET ALARM RELAY THAT WONT ALLOWED YOU TO START, IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WERE IT IS, IS OK, OPEN THE CONNECTION AND REMOVE THE WIRE COMING FROM ALARM TO IGNITION SWITCH WIRE, FIND THE OTHER END OF THE IGNITION WIRE THAT WAS CUT OUT , SEPARATE FROM THE OTHER WIRE ALSO FROM THE ALARM, AND RECONNECT BOTH IDENTICAL COLOR WIRE TOGETHER AND IT WELL START, UNLESS YOU HAVE A SECURITY LIGHT ON THE DASH, CHECK THIS OUT FIRST., PROGRAMING MAY BE NEED IT OR OTHER PROBLEMS ARE THERE.

If you have power going to the coil but no spark, you've got something wrong with the "triggering" circuit of you ignition system.

One other thing, if your engine is the TC88 engine, (first year of production for some models) it probably has a "compression sensor" on it. If you have no compression, you will not have any spark. If you have your plugs out of the engine, you have no compression. So, screw a set of plugs into the engine, leave another set in the wires and grounded against the engine to test the spark.

The "triggering system" uses the signal from the ignition timing sensor that is located in the "nose cone" of the engine. Check this wiring from the ignition unit's "Black box" to the sensor. I seem to remember a plug that plugs in for this unit.

I'm afraid that this is about the only help I can give you with a stock ignition unit as I usually work with either earlier igniton systems or aftermarket units. I have very little experience with "stock" Harley units.

Ignition fuse keeps blowing I have changed coil and ign module cant find short is there a way to bypass and rewire to fuse? Pontiac,Firebird 97

It's much too complicated to rewire the ignition... Maybe the fuses you used are not good quality. Only a service station can help you, I'm afraid...

The haynes manuals have pretty good wiring diagrams in them. You can get them at any parts places.
