Good guess. The springs in the cup lose their "spring" over the years. You will only hear noise made by the compensaor while the engine is idling. I've never heard it going down the road but then my hearing isn't that great anymore. Too many "loud pipes" in the past. I've replaced quite a few of the spring cups over the years. Take you outer primary cover off and try to turn the spring cup with your hands. If you can, it's time to replace it.

Also, while you have your primary chain off, check you Timken bearing on the outside. Pull the sprocket shaft seal by drilling a couple of small holes in it, turn in some sheet metal screws and use something to pull the seal out with. If you put the screws in the right places, a standard claw hammer works well to pull the seal out with. With the seal out, you can see the outer Timken bearing. I've pulled the outer seal and found nothing left but the inner and outer races, no rollers at all. Use a flashlight and check for pitting or anything that might indicate wear. If you find anything there, it engine rebuild time. When installing the new seal, drive it in square and about 0.050" below the surface around the seal area. Just a bit low, doesn't have to be exact.

I once had to rebuild an '84 FX engine due to this. The bike ran very good and quiet as long as you were just cruising. But, roll the throttle on and it sounded like someone inside the engine with a sledge hammer. When I checked the outer Timken, no rollers. Still have no idea where the rollers or cage went. It's like they were never there.

If you're going to stay with a Shovelhead type engine, S&S makes a nice 93 cu. inch engine. I'd love to have the Shovel but I've already got a '94 FXDWG, a '69 FLH, and a '65 FL. I need another bike like I need a hole in the head.

On my Kenmore Soft Heat Heavy duty gas dryer I am having problems with the the fire lighting and going off intermentently . The fact that it ignites and then goes out makes me think that it isn't...

Hello Jerry,

It is working like its supposed to when the flame goes off, the way all dryers work is the flame(heat element on electric heated dryers) comes on and when the drum exhaust temp reachs a maximum of 155degrees and the flame goes off, the air temp will cool off to 120degrees and the flame comes back on and cuts off once again the 155 degrees has been reached..much more that 155 degrees the clothing is very likely to combust and catch on fire.

Please reply and let me know if your having a dryability issue with your dryer or where you just concerned since the flame went off??

the one thing in your statment is the knockes/knocking this what is known as the big ends and indicates the engine is under pressure and needs a lot of repair. If when you start the engine when cold if you stand at the back of the car and if the smoke coming out of the exhaust has a blue tint/ie like a old ladys hair tint ,as im sure you will see.[bottom line] the engine needs replaced.adrian,,,,

How long should I charge my Power Rumble FX for? I can't seem to find a manual for it.

You do not have to worry about overcharging your Power Rumble FX so feel free to keep it charging for as long as you please.

With that said it should really only take about 45 minutes to an hour to reach full charge.

Hopefully this helped!

I bought a Kenko KK-82TL Scientific Calculator but no manual

I have found the company site for you. Here it is. You can send an inquiry to them.
But from the looks of it, I believe this calculator is rebranded Casio FX-82. An even if I am wrong, you should still be able to make good use of the Casio FX-82 manual to understand how your calculator works. Scientific calculators do not differ much from one another.

Here is the link to the Casio FX-82 manuals.

Trouble shooting

After you reach the mid-level point, you will come to an area with two rows of bricks. You must be big, but not mega-sized to perform this trick. Knock out the middle brick on the top row, then knock out the third brick in the bottom row. This will cause a vine to grow. Climb the vine and make your way to the end of the level above to reach the red flag secret exit.

Engine knocks on idle

Hi northjames8
I would be checking that the rotor has been torqued up properly too. You  can get a manual from here. Is for later model bike, but the essence of these things should be the same. Thanks for using Fixya.Good luck with getting it sorted. A FixYa vote is a great reward for helping you out here. Cheers

Daytona 955i running hot

That is quite normal - these bikes run very hot and will typically reach temp where fan kicks in (103 deg C) while bike is sitting at idle, even if not particularly hot weather. Needs good airflow through the rad to keep the temp down.
Fortunately, when fan comes on it lowers the temp quite quickly.
