Check the coil and the plug wire see if and there is crossion in the boot and if it doubt replace the coil wire first. Be sure your battery voltste is up and then if you have a problem test the primary side and secondary wire side of the coil. if there is to much resistance replace the coil. Also check the coil for loose wires at the coil and the wire feed for the coil on oppiste end.

Pull the plugs and check them for fuel or oil fouling first, then post the results of the inspection.

Will oil in spark plug compartment cause slow take off in acceleration.

Oil in the cylinder(s) can foul plugs, resulting in misfiring and thus loss of power. Another possibility is that the oil in the cylinder(s) comes from oil leaking into the cylinders. If these leaks are of sufficient size, they will reduce compression in the cylinder, and thus reduced power upon the cylinder firing.

I have a honda goldwing 1100 with a dead cylinder and it is getting spark and fuel can you tell me the problem.

spark to weak maybe? did you try the coils? also it may be running to lean or something. is the spark plug wet? no? dry? if the plug is too wet or dry it might be a carb issue. also is the plug oil fouled?

look at this chart and compare it to your plug. go from there.

92 vt600, only back cylinder is firing

How so it isn't fouled? If it is getting any gas at all there should be gasoline on the plug assuming the cylinder is in fact not firing. Is the plug sparking? If so what about the carb? Compression check?

Spark plugs fouling in less than a week !! please help

Hi, Hitmagedz and the usual suspects are:
1. Dirty air filter.
2. Fuel mixture too rich or enrichner/choke left out too long.
3. Faulty spark plug.
4. Incorrect spark plug heat range for the engine type or service.
5. Piston rings badly worn or broken.
6. Valve guides are badly worn and/or seals worn, crushed or have come off the valve guide and are pumping oil through it.
7. Spark plug cable weak or leaking check for spark jump in the dark.
8. Faulty ignition coil.
9. Low RPM nonaggressive riding style.

2000 honda 1100 shadow spirit. Rough idle, little power.

Replace the spark plug caps and try again. On Honda's the cap is often part of the wire (a dealer part) NGK makes some inexpensive plug caps about $5 each. They should OHM out to 5000 anything above or below and you need to replace them. This should fix the problem.

Bike not firing properly, plugs fouled

If you used the choke to start the bike last winter, you probably fouled the plugs. Depending on the age of the plugs, you can either clean and re-gap them or replace them with new, which also have to be checked for gap.
Secondly, if you did not run the bike out of fuel after starting it, chances are you have some build up in the carb jets. New, clean fuel and Techron or Seafoam gas treatment will help if it's not too bad. Follow directions on the can. I personally used Seafoam but Techron is recommended by Honda. Be sure to mix per instructions, which on Seafoam is 1 oz. per gal.

Do a compression check and lets go from there. Bad rings CAN cause fouling
