Problem for Yamaha 1982 XZ 550 S

Hi, i have 1981 YAMAHA XJ550 , sitting over a year

Hi, i have 1981 YAMAHA XJ550 , sitting over a year but won't start, when i push started switch there nothing , but only oil level gauge on, what happen ?? is there lower oil level??, or oil gauge sensor bad??? what should i check?? and how do i test the oil level gauge if i know bad or good ?? some body help me out PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

Sounds like your battery may be bad. The oil light will stay on till the switch senses pressure. You may have a bad starter switch, relay, or some other issue. Get out a manual and your multi meter and start testing.
