and is free running, engine.

your not. it is timed to #4 firing.
the belt comes with a page showing that
and the FSM, and alldata.com
or here.
the steps are different from 8v and 16v read that here.

when you get over 150psi compression, or 170 on 16v

NEED TIMING BELT DIARAM FOR A 1994 SUZUKI SIDEKICK JLX
Install the timing belt on the sprockets so that there is no slack in the drive side of the belt (1), then install the tensioning assembly...

1993 suzuki sidekick 4 door has a rough idle. all 6 injectors are fine. problem is worse when engine is cold . Problem is also worse when the engine is warm and the air conditioner is on.
Check or change plugs and wires, and check timing. Aim a timing light at the mark on the crank. If the mark jumps around, your belt has slipped.
