SONY DVD-RW 1.4 GB DISK CAN NOT READ ANY DVD WRITER OF MY COMPUTER. I HAVE CHANGED MY DVD R/W ( LG COMBO, SONY SATA DVD R/W, LG SUPER MULTI DVD R/W) BUT DISK IS OPENING BLANK. NO CONTAINS SHOW BUT THIS RECORDING DVD IS SHOWING FROM MY CAMERA.

1.control panel->system->hardware->DEVICE MANAGER 2.uninstall your driver 3.restart you computer 4.on tray icon a balloon come with a MSG of 'found new hardware' 5.click on it 6.select your driver from it .then select suitable option
if you still have problem buy a you op(win xp,vista,7..).using that disk repair you computer.

the dvd writer must be old or lens may have moister. So try to use lens cleaner or change the writer.

it may be beacuse of one more reasons DVD you are using must have lot of scratches.

my LG SUPERMULTI DVD WRITER doesn't read SECURE DISCS .

your dvd has scratches on it. See if it is visible then it can not be repaired

I suppose your's is a SATA drive. Disconnect all the sata cables except for the Hard Disk and that of the Writer in question. Boot up and check if the drives works. If not take pains and try installing the drive in another PC (one of your friends'). If it still has the same problem check with where you bought it.

Well, since I received a solution from MAXTRIXKHAN, I just wanted to check back with NCIX.com, and here is a recap of what I did, and what they told me...

After a few tries, I had to contact LG Customer service.
I tried to burn to...

-Maxell CD-R, no problems,
-TDK DVD-RW, no problems,
-Verbatim DVD+R, Computer hangs.

Well, I bought this DVD-Writer to replace my old GSA-4167B, and LG customer service told me that this DVD-Writer does not support the Verbatim DVDs.

So, if you have plenty of Verbatim DVDs, you should forget about this writer.

Maxell, Sony, TDK

Will have to send it back to NCIX
