I have a 2002 Chevy Cavalier with 95,000 miles. Due to me being in the Marine Corps, I haven't been able to drive it much in the last 3 years thanks to deployments. But one day i started it up and it started blowing out black smoke, idling rough, and there is a strong smell of fuel in the car. When I drive it around base it drives normal but the fuel mileage is next to nothing..Any assistance would be greatly appreciated..

The black smoke is the result of a very rich mixture. After sitting for so long something is definately gummed up, especially if it's been the same fuel in the tank for 3 years. I would first check the injectors to see if one or more are leaking. How's the fuel pressure?

Where can i find a new chevy cavalier oil pan for a 2004 2.2

  • Hi, I can help.

  • You may also try a few local salvage yards. You can inspect the oil pan well before purchasing it and it will be cheap as well. The choice is yours.

I have had to replace my timing belt 4 times within the last 3 to 4 years is that common. To the point it was under warrenty twice when it had to be taken back into the shop. i drive a 2001 chevy cavalier

no thats not common at all, unless your driving 75k miles a year or more, what ever dealer or mechanic did the work before ,,, take it back to them and ask why this keeps happening, its defiantly not normal
