The m and caps lock keys on my Toshiba satellite

The "m" and "caps lock" keys on my Toshiba satellite A40 no longer work when pressed. All the other keys seem to be working ok.
Is there anything I can do or do I need to replace the keyboard.

Thanks very much

Bad keyboard. This series have a higher frequency of keyboard problems because ... well .. the keyboard cable got folded by design. Just replace it. The A40's uses the same keyboard as a A10, A15, A55, A60, A64, 1400, 1405, 1410, 1415, 2400, 2405, 2410, 2415 ... and many others. A new replacement keyboard should run about $20 on eBay.

Replacing the KB is easy: lift up the power button board above the keyboard, remove the three screws holding the keyboard down, then remove the keyboard connector cover panel, and you'll be able to disconnect the keyboard.

Pressing the CAPS LOCK or NUM LOCK there is a beep.

launch the Toggle Keys dialog box by holding down the Num Lock button for five seconds, and clicking Yes. Thereafter, a loud beep will sound through your computer's speakers whenever Caps Lock is turned on or off. (To turn Toggle Keys off, once again hold down your Num Lock button for five seconds.)

Toshiba satellite a40-s270 won't turn on

Either the power supply is not working or the battery has failed and will not hold a charge. If the laptop is 3 or more years old, the battery is the likely suspect.

Dont know how to change ram in the toshiba satellite pro A40

Flip it over and loosen 2 screws holding a panel in the center of the laptop.
Once door is removed, it will expose ram modules.
pry locking tabs out, and module will spring UP. remove, and replace reverse of removal.

Keyboard beep

Isolate the issue first. If your using an external keyboard, remove it and test if you still experience it. If not, then there could be a stuck key on your external keyboard.
If yes, then there could be a stuck key on the laptops keyboard.

If there is a stuck key, try to check the buttons on the KB then contact Toshiba to avail of your warranty for the repair.

Hope this helps.
