Check pulse coil generator system...sometimes hot oil leaks onto the pickups and then the ohm readings aren't right...check ohm readings on these pulse coils only when not working. i had this problem and it would always push start no matter what...have you tried to push start it....try that first...pretty good chance if it does start your pulse coils are getting to hot.

Bike starts Ok runs for 3 mins then stops. seems to run longer on full throttle, when throttle is shut, bike stops as if running out of fuel

Hi, Raymond the following applies to carbureted also fuel injected models and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
2. Failed alternator/generator and or voltage regulator.
3. Loose or corroded battery terminals and or cables especially the "NEGATIVE" cable, look for loose, corroded, or broken connectors inside the cable harness at "BOTH" ends.
4. Failed main circuit breaker or ignition switch, check for loose connections and continuity.
5. Failed system and or ignition relay, check for continuity.
6. Failed ignition coil, ignition/electronic module.
7. Failed CKP, CPS, CMP, MAP, TPS, or BAS sensor, corroded, loose or broken wire connector pins/sockets.
8. Throttle cables and or idle speed improperly adjusted hot idle speed should be 950 RPM to 1000 RPM.
9. Air/fuel mixture screw improperly adjusted.
10. Accelerator pump damaged or not working.
11. Water or dirt in the fuel system, carburetor or filter.
12. Restricted, blocked or kinked fuel line.
13. Fuel tank empty.
14. The gas cap is not venting properly or fuel tank venting system blocked.
15. A failed fuel pump, pressure regulator and or fuel injectors.
16. Vacuum line from intake manifold to petcock broken, cracked, or not attached, carburetor vent line plugged.
17. Needle and seat stuck closed in the float bowl.

I hav a 1997 model nissan b14 it has problem in starting in cold like in morning it chokes makes sound n offs.it wrks afta tryin many times wen it becomes hot can anyone hlp me out in dis

Hi,
You need to have the cold start thermosensor. This enables the computer to tell when the vehicle is cold and hot. It tells the ECU to turn the fuel mixture up or down.
Hope this helps
Thanks

Put a new battery in my 96 cbr 600 last month its been fine .. yesterday did a few wheelies n the key came out finally wen i stoped the bike died n battery was dead ... could it b a stator or rectifier ?...

chare the battery back up and get a volt meter, the battery should read 12v or a little higher, when you start the bike the voltage should rise to around 14v, if it doesnt rise it is not charging and the reg or stator needs checking

Can a voltage regulator/rectifier if not working properly blow the main fuse. I have a 2002 v-star 1100. I was riding when all of a sudden the bike died on me. I lost all power no light, turn signals,...

YES!
Good link here:
http://www.flygenring.dk/yamaha/artikler/1100ChargingSystem.pdf

Symptoms:
Lights flickering at times and/or battery gets hot to the touch

Problem:
Reglator/Rectifier

When the regulator dies, it allows as much as 19 volts to appear across the battery. This is not good. It will cook the battery and the battery could even explode. Fuse can not stand up to this!

Car won't start

a catalytic converter is not going to cause the car not to start if its clogged it might cause loss of power wen running, if the starter was failing u can hear a clicking noise tryin to start it that can indicate that it might be stuck or probably failing, check if u getting spark also
