Question about 2008 Suzuki GSX-R 600

1 Answer

I have a Feb 2008 Grand Vitara. Within the 1st month, the reverse gear would not work. This has happened 3 times within the first 6 months. However, Suzuki have not found that this is a problem! However, my main concern is that 3 weeks ago, I was parking and driving slowly, pressed the brakes and the car did not stop! I pressed it 2 more times, but on the third time, I hit a 3ft pole which did damage to the bonnet. Had I been pressing the accelerator, the car would have been heavily dented at the bottom grill! Has anyone else had failing brakes? PS Your product is only allowing Suzuki models up tpo 2007!! Mine is def a 2008 Grand Vitara

WELL IT WILL HAVE TO GO BACK TO DEALERS
as it sounds plke the master cylinder or booster has to be replaced as if the booster is faulty it will happen again also the master cylinder bolted to it ,,if fluid is bypassing the plunger and going to the floor then it has to be replaced also.
Did the brake pedal go hard as a rock or down to the floor..
Let me know how you go Ron

Will go in gear but car will not move

If the car does not move either forward or in reverse gear, then it may be due the following defects:
- Inner cup of one of the CV Joints may have jumped out of the transmission. (Simply push it back in the transmission forcibly)
- Torque converter damaged.
Or there could be something which has gone bad within the transmission assembly, for example:
1. Manual valve.
2. Valve body assembly.
3. Planetary gear unit.
4. Forward clutch.
5. Number 2 one-way clutch.
6. Reverse clutch.
7. 1st and reverse brake.

take bottom pan off clean out your pressure sensor .. tends to get mini metl flakes caught up in there wich is also a bad sign that your tranny is going out but this will buy you atleast another 2 to 3 months

Hi, i have a 2006 mitsubishi colt and the gear stick is jammed. its not moving any at all.

Mine wouldn't go into 1st and was crunching into reverse within 3 months of ownership,Mitsubishi have e mailed me saying that this is due to (a) wear and tear and (b) in a second e mail due to driver error, the dealerships opinion (c) is that it is normal and wearing in - all laughable really - its deffo a mechanical failure / breakage but Mitsubishi do not want to know or admit responsibility. If you problem was noted in the 1st 3 years of ownership and still under warranty and documented why not have it corrected and take them to court. Im sure you are not alone !!

The heater in my 2000 Vitara does not work in the 1st 2nd setting but works in 3 4?

Hi.... I've seen this problem so many times, the fault lies within the multi position switch. My advice is to purchase a new switch as trying to repair one is futile

Sure sounds like the torque converter is bad to me. Usually after the fluid gets hot, this problem shows up. Specially since it's in ALL gears......sorry o;(>

Reprogram remote

xl-7 programming instructions first you need to stuff your head up under the dash and locate your module drivers side upper corner under dash does it say programmable transmitter (the first models had no programable modules) if it says that then......
1 confirm all doors are shut and key is out of ignition
2 open drivers door insert key and turn to on within 10 sec
3 turn ignition switch to off in 10 sec
4 push and release drivers door switch 3 times in 20 sec
5 turn ign. switch to on in 10 sec
6 turn ign. switch to off in 10 sec
7 press and hold lock and unlock button on transmitter for 5 sec within 20 sec of step 6 alldoors will lock/unlockto confirm correct process
8 press lock unlock buttons on second remote within 5 sec after step 7 once again all doors will lock/unlock to confirm
9 to add another remote up to a max of four repeat steps 1 through 8 this was taken directly out of an owners manual supplement that comes with a new keyless entry kit (part number for a xl-7 or grand vitara can't remember which one it goes to but it works on either one is 84900-67810) which you would have to purchase if yours is not programable these instructions are the same for vitara, grand vitara, xl-7 and the esteem hope this helps
