There seems to be fuel stravation problem to the carburator....
Remove the carburator and thn remove the float bowl and clean the float pin and its passage...there could be some kind of dirt in the pathway and thus the obstruction of the fuel flow into the float chamber.
If your bike doesn't have an 'in-line' filter ....install one! this will help catch the dirt before it finds its way into the float chamber.

Hope this helps!

I have a bajaj discover 125 cc dts-i bike with me. But the problem is that i am getting a milege about 40kmpl, what can i do to improve it?

Hi Casanovapras, the following tips are low cost easy to apply/install and guaranteed to give you better gas mileage and a smoother running bike. The average motorcycle gets 35-40 MPG. saving .2 gallon of gas could save you a 6-mile walk. 125cc scooters have been known to get 115 plus MPG
1. Proper tire inflation as per MFG. specifications wheels should be balanced and spokes tight.
2. Oil and coolant levels maintained at full marks, low levels produce excessive heat that causes the engine to work harder and reduces efficiency.
3. Keep extra weight to a minimum.
4. Take off from a dead stop should be smooth and easy throttle applied avoid excessive throttle snaps.
5. Smaller windshields get better MPH than large ones, wind resistance increases as a square of the speed at which you're traveling. So, for example, at 70 mph, wind resistance is double what it is at 50 mph (70 squared is almost twice as much as 50 squared). That will dramatically reduce your mileage. Keep that in mind while biking.
6. Keep idle time to a bare minimum or turn off the engine.
7. Re-jet carburetor with a smaller main and mid-range jet.
8. Keep chain/belt properly adjusted.
9. Avoid quick braking, hasty acceleration, high-speed driving, try driving the speed limit and keep a constant speed.
10. On long trips use freeways or flat straight stretches of highways rather than city or rural routes avoid hills and mountains when possible.
11. Keep your engine clean, dirt and grease/oil hold in heat.
12. A full-face helmet is more aerodynamic than other types of helmets. Any other clothing that decreases your aerodynamic should be reconsidered.
13. Any unnecessary bling on your bike is going to decrease fuel efficiency.
14. Use high-quality fuel using low-quality fuel can cause sludge in your fuel injectors.
15. Keep warm up time to a minimum get off the choke ASAP.
16. Motorcycles run best when their engines are maintained, and that includes making sure the air filter is clean, the spark plugs are fresh, the fuel filter is free, and the timing/valves are adjusted.

When ever I ride my Discover 125CC,2005 model after washing it gets choked/missing.It gets difficult to even start it.After starting it doesnt move without applying the choke. When i went to the service...

I had the same symptoms with a 1980 Kawasaki LTD. I couldn't ride in the rain, because it would miss and shut down. For my bike the problem was cracked coils. Any water at all getting in the coils will short the electrical path to the spark plugs. Check your coils, especially around the wire leads for any cracks or openings.

If the bike just runs better with the choke on, it sounds more like the fuel/air mixture is just too lean. Make sure you have the correct air filter properly installed, and the carburator is adjusted properly.

Good luck!

My Bajaj Discover 125 DTSi showing a problem that whenever the vehicle ride through rain or after washing, chocking / missing happens. Bike starts but not able to move when we load gear and releases...

Dear Friend,

I was also facing the same problem with my Discover125 for a while. When i went to the service centre they said it happens with most of the Discover users.According to them there may be a possiblity of water going inside the Carburator and due to that this missing is happening.Earlier my choke was not working, but now i have rectified my choke assy and i use the choke when ever i face this problem and the bike runs ok. Even though i am not able to solve this problem permanently, i can ride my bike without much problem.Still i am trying to solve this problem permanently. If you find any solution please mail me to robmatkrl@gmail.com.

Hi, Sunily18 and the usual suspects are:
1. Enrichner system plugged, not properly functioning or improperly operated.
2. Fuel overflow.
3. Restricted fuel supply.
4. Plugged slow jet or passages.
5. Inlet system air leak.
