Question about 1999 Honda CBR 900 RR Fireblade

I have a 99 Honda CBR900 and after I allow it to warm up and go to take off it cuts off? Why is it doing that?

    does it cut off everytime or just some of the time? are you pulling high revs?

Electrically or does it sputter? if it sputters it sound like a fuel pump problem or fuel filter is clogged. if its electrical.... its probably your spark unit or pulse generators. check for loose connections.

Missing cut out


if you have a automatic choke get it checked and make sure its working properlly, it might be staying on wich means the bik will not start or run when it warm

What is the normal operating temp of a 1998 cbr900 rr ...and what is the normal temp when at idle after its warmed up ...say sitting in traffic & is it equiped with a cooling fan?

Just after the standed jet sides for my cbr900


122 outer and 125 inner main jets, 3rd clip from the top on all needles and from 2 to 3 rounds out on the pilots should give you a good mixture setting. Adjust pilots as needed for smooth idle and to allow for any intake or exhaust mods.

Oil using cbr900 1999


it is normal for them to use oil honda say half a liter to a 1000 miles if driven hard.if its done a lot of miles you may have worn piston rings or leaking vavle seals do a compression test

I need to change the spark plugs in my sons 2000 honda cbr900. where is the spark plug?


There are 4. Remove the upper faring and you will see the spark plug wires. Just follow em to the engine case.

Make sure the plugs have the proper Gap and that you have the right plugs NGK are the best for your Bike...Might be a crack in the porcelain on the plug. But start with the Plugs
