Honda vt250f running on one cylinder only any suggestions

Hi, John you need "FIVE" things in order for a cylinder to run properly:
1. FUEL: in order to validate your not getting fuel spray some starting fluid into the air cleaner and hit the starter button, if it fires up and runs for a few seconds then you know you have a fuel delivery issue.
2. SPARK: remove the spark plug and with it connected to the spark plug cable ground the threads to something metal you should see a bluish white spark if not you have a faulty spark plug, spark plug cable, ignition coil, condenser, CKP, ECM, sensor or the wiring in between.
3. COMPRESSION: you must have at least 80-100 PSI for most bikes if not perform a leak down test you may have a burnt or bent valve or hole in the piston or broken rings.
4. CAM TIMING: confirm your timing marks are aligned to see if the cam chain or adjuster are worn out and the chain has skipped a couple teeth.
5. IGNITION TIMING: on older bikes check to see if your points have not closed up, timing plate has not become loose and confirm with a timing light for proper retard and advance functions, on newer bikes where timing is controlled by an ECM and is nonadjustable check you CKP, TPS, MAP, O2, sensor or it's counterpart for integrity.

My husband put freon in the ac, changed the spark plugs, and put power steering fluid in the car. We've had a oil leak for a while but after doing all of this, the oil started running out of the car

Sounds like something has been moved or broken. Check the Power Steering (PS) hoses for leaks. Check the steering rack bypass tubes, as these can rust.

If the oil is black, its likely engine oil. If clear or red, PS fluid.

Put the car on ramps or similar, get underneath and clean off all the oil. Place some cardboard under the engine and run it. The position of the oil drops should give you an idea of where the leak is located.

1999 VULCAN HAS OIL LEAKING AROUND THE SPARK PLUG DOWN A WEEP HOLE AND OUT THE BACK OF THE CYLINDER HEAD. WHAT IS CAUSING BUILD UP OF OIL IN THE SPARK PLUG WELL? REAR CYLINDER RIGHT SIDE PLUG

hi, sounds like the oil seal in the rocker cover has failed, remove the rocker cover and you will see a rubber seal, this seals the oil inside the cover, however when the seal fails around the spark plug hole, oil leaks into spark plug well and out of weep hole.

It would be very unusual if it didnt, slight model changes rarely effect the basic engine set up. But, why dont you find a good boiler maker and get him to weld yours up. That is a simpler plan and it will still be your bikes part.

Oil around spark plugs on 1992 honda accord

Yes the oil can cause the car to lose spark, the oil leak could be caused by the valve cover gaskets around the spark openings, but 9 times out of 10 it is the spark plug tube "O" rings. The top of the valve train comes off of the head, the "O" rings are between the two halves, that will fix the oil leak.

are the carbs balanced correctly and are you sure that all of the jets are clean. if not try it, it might work. sluggish throttle response is normally to do with the carbs.
