Revs don't drop quickly enough therefor no engine braking when riding. checked everything and replaced things in carburetors. this problem appeared overnight

Double check the throttle cable to make sure it has play. Same with throttle control and any device you may use to hold throttle in position. Check the Amal carb settings. Check to make sure the engine slows without load.

Runs wide open when started

thats a carb right? (many are modified, this old, vast numbers) send photos for best help.
well, close the throttle valve in the bottom of the carb.
if is stuck open, then find what is stuck ,that is remove linkage until its not. bingo now you know what was stuck.
the throttle is just a very simple butterfly valve, (wiki that)
they can be closed 100% and the engine can not even run.
sure can.

My throttle stuck open on my moped

Hello is probably the cable that is stuck. Try loosening the throttle cable on the handelbar adjustment. Your cable might be too tight & lubricate the cable.
If that don't help, the slide in the carb is stuck open, you will need to reset it. Try moving the cable around by hand, sometimes that will free it up. If not you will have to open the carb up to get to the slide. I hope this.

Took the carb off to clean it. Put it back together, and now the throttle cable is stuck wide open. Who do I fix the problem. I don't know to much about working on dirt bikes. The bike is a 2004 Honda...

First be sure the cable is seated into the top cap of the carb. Check the clip on the needle. It should be in the center groove. Check the slide to be sure the notch in the side of the slide is lined up with the pin in the inner side wall of the carb throat and that the slide moves freely when the twist grip is operated. Is the throttle cable kinked or pinched abraded or routed improperly? Is the seal on the manifold still good? Is the manifold tight to the head and carb? Please rate my answer. Thanks.

I started the bike and was at full throttle when running but throttle was not sticking maybe floats stuck,so i took carb off cleaned it and put it back on know bike won't start at all ,i have spark going...

Are you certain the throttle butterfly or slide (depending on what model bike you have) is seated...if the actual throttle in the carb throat is not closing, starting bike cold will be very difficult as you are feeding in too much air.

Accelerator stuck open

This has happened to me before, and i know just what the problem is. Under the fuel tank, the throttle cable goes into a plastic cable housing, and sometimes the cable guard gets stuck out of the housing, causing the throttle to be constantly open. Just take off the tank, follow your throttle cable to find where it's stuck and release it.

Howto install weber carb

Remove the old carb.  Bolt the new carb and gasket onto the manifold.  Hook up the fuel line and clamp.  Thread the throttle cable through the linkage and tighten.  Have someone hold the gas pedal to the floor, look inside the carb and make sure the throttle plate inside the carb is full open.  Next, wire in the electric choke, this should just clip on.
Now after the engine is running and warmed up...adjust the mixture and idle speed adjustments on the side of the carb.  Is this a two barreled cab and does it have a manual choke?
