Why is my if light staying on

FI , im guessing is going to stand for "fuel injection"

If the bike now sounds different it has probably got a problem with the fuel injection somewhere that the computer has picked up.

If the sound of the bike has changed it may have dropped 1 cylinder and that is why it sounds different all of a sudden.

It could be a simple blocked injector or water in the your fuel - a bad batch of fuel will play havoc with the fuel injection system on any vehicle.

When was the last time you bought fuel ? was this problem only after getting new fuel? when was the last time the bike was serviced?

id have the fuel system checked buy someone that knows what they are looking at.

I took off the factory mufflers on my suzuki m50 that is fuel injected and put straight pipe on it. Drove it for awhile and now it wont run unless the air cleaner is off. How can I adjust it?

There is no adjustment on the fuel injection model unless you put it on a computer and have it remapped.

When you put straight pipes on the bike, you did away with a baffle that was in your stock pipes.
so now there is no back pressure, and your bike is breathing now.
But it can't breath if it can't get the air.
When you remove the air cleaner it breaths.
So you need to purchase a High-Flow air filter.
If you have an airbox, you may need to eliminate that as well, but start with just the high flow fliter first.
When putting on straight pipes and a high flow air filter , you will also need to increase your carburetor main jet size at least 1-2 numbers:example:stock 120 go to 122.
if you don't increase the main jet your bike will run lean and hot.

Once done you'll be able to crack that throttle and the whole neigborhood will here ya.
Loud pipes save lives.

Anytime you change the exhaust system on a bike, it's going to affect the mixture. I know nothing about the fuel injection system or the computer on your bike. That being said, I'd take the bike to shop that had a dynometer and a competent mechanic running it. They may need to make some changes in the fuel map. It's probably running a bit lean in the low RPM range. That's my best suggestion.

Good Luck

If you have changed the air cleaner intake in any way , or the exhaust system in any way , you probably need to put a Power Commander on the cycle. If you have a Power Commander on the already, you need to hook your motorcycle back up to your computer and try a different map for your CDI box. Fuel injected motorcycles are very precisely made. They do not have the ability to compensate for changes you make to the intake and exhaust. By adding a Power Commander, You get the ability to change the fuel injection/power curve to match the changes made to the stock set up. To fix your bike you have to either put your bike back to stock ,or add (or remap) the Power Commander. If your bike is stock and giving you these issues, take it back to the dealer and have the fuel injection system checked out.

That's s failure of the secondary air pump. It'll have to be changed. It's an emissions component meant to help with cold start emissions. It won't cause engine running trouble but at inspection time you'll fail for smog. Change it before then and you'll be fine.

05 sportster jerking as if it were running out of gas

You need to finish the equation. There are 3 things that work together. intake, exhaust and ignition. The stage one kit has advanced the timing a bit and the pipes has let the gases flow freely.
You are in a pickle. How much money do you want to spend?
The pipes have let you get a little more top end end but now it has a hard time in transition. I personally would go 2 into 1 for the torque. !43 vs. 142 mph aint that much differnece.
You need more fuel and a bit more restricted exhaust.

Do you want to sound good out in the parking lot at idle or be in front on the road?

My Honda VTX 1300 backfires when I close the throttle or when I shift down. What should I do. It sounds like a gun shot

Your bike is running lean (too much air and not enough fuel). What, if any, modifications have you done to the bike? If you changed the exhaust out for louder pipes, you need to adjust the f/a (fuel/air) mixture in the carburetor to compensate for more air going through the bike. Let me know here if you have made any type of mods to the bike.

The Techlusion will fit your bike for a fuel management system. I would definitely get one with aftermarket pipes and especially if your going to get an aftermarket air kit.
