Where is the fuel cutoff switch in a 2004 nissan quest? The car is not transferring the gas through the plump. It did yesterday. And now you cannot hear the plump. I just want to turn off the fuel cutoff...

i know that the previous gen quest had the fuel inertia RESET switch on the driver side kick panel...

fuel is cutting off via the ECM for your generation though

"If the engine speed is above 1,800 rpm with no load (for example, in neutral and engine speed over 1,800 rpm) fuel will be cut off after some time. The exact time when the fuel is cut off varies based on engine speed. Fuel cut will operate until the engine speed reaches 1,500 rpm, then fuel cut is cancelled."

Only right after filling up with gas, the engine seems to either flood or cutoff when arriving at the first stop sign or stop light or better yet from the first higher RPM's down to 0 RPM's. Any ideas...

Bad gas. Put some seafoam in your gas tank or heet fuel line gas treatment. You may have fueled up after the tanker truck filled the gas pumps and water in the tank may have been mixed up with the new fuel.

No I took the cutoff off the tank and gas comes out of the tank fine and the cutoff seens to be working, dose it have a fual pump?

Yes your bike has a fuel pump. Probably located under your seat. Follow the fuel line that goes from the tank and it will take you to the fuel pump.

Car won't start right away after refueling

I just fixed a similar problem on a Toyota Corolla. I'm not certain if your car's EVAP system setup is the same, but this could resolve your problem as well. Your car may have one or both: A refuel check valve, and/or a fuel cutoff valve. Generally these are located off of the fill tube, but the cutoff valve may be mounted on the fuel tank. 01e0b34.jpg
The problem occurs when your fuel tank is overfilled and/or gas flows into the EVAP line. The gas is too high in the filler neck thereby causing fuel to flow into the charcoal canister. A defective refuel and/or fuel cutoff valve would cause this problem. The cutoff valve prevents fuel from flowing into the canister, and the refuel valve helps to trigger the gas pump to stop.

Test refuel check valve (if installed) by blowing air from larger to smaller port. Air should not flow freely and the valve should open as pressure increases. Air should flow freely when blowing from smaller to larger port. Replace valve if it fails either test.

Test the fuel cutoff valve by holding it upright, as installed on car; air should flow freely. Turning upside down should prevent airflow. Also, fuel present in the check valve may indicate the tank was over filled meaning you possibly have fuel in your charcoal canister.

Is your engine warning light on? For the Toyota, code P0441 "Incorrect Purge Flow" was present. Just replacing a defective valve may not get rid of the code. It's possible that your charcoal canister was saturated with gasoline too so that may need to be replaced. I also heard of a situation where the fuel tank was contaminated and had to be cleaned.

Replacing the cutoff valve solved my problem. Good luck! Related Link: http://www.2carpros.com/forum/1998-toyota-corolla-vt190664.html
