Look on the ignition of the bike. If it says 'lock' on it somewhere, then put the key in, push down and turn it clockwise and that should unlock it. If it doesn't say that then there should be a key on the front neck of the bike where the triple clamp bolts to which holds the front forks. One of them should unlock the steering.

2008 fxdl lowrider lost key and forks locked any way to unlock got new after market switch to install

Simplest way is to go to a dealer, give him the VIN number and get the correct key to fit both lock and ignition switch. A new set of keys is cheaper than a steering lock and ignition key, even aftermarket ones.

well if its stuck from maybe not using it very often I don't know I would spray liberally with wd-40 and wiggle handlebars back and forth with it in the oven locked position only you not going to be able to move it far still in the hole you may have to remove the ignition which there are YouTube videos to do I would also check up maybe on YouTube there may be a solution there good luck

Just purchased a 2001 sportster 883. Where is the steering lock located?

Seems to me that the steering lock is nothing more than just a loop on the frame and the front end that you put a pad lock into.

How do i remove the sterring lock on a 2004 1200 sportster?

If you look real close around the lock, there is a pin that holds the cylinder in the steering head. Drive out the pin, insert the key, turn and pull the lock out.

Secure my motorcycle

Lock the steering to one side with the ignition lock. Use a disk lock. Use a large lock with a chain around something solid. If you use a disk lock, also get a bright ribbon that says something clever like “Remove Before Takeoff” so you don’t forget to remove the lock before you break your brake disk. Keep the motorcycle out of sight … or in a brightly-lit area. Keep it under a cover, with a better lock than the other motorcycles nearby. Get a bike that is less popular with thieves. Despite all this advice and all your best efforts, your bike might still get stolen.
