------------------- Installation:

Remove Back Seat:
  1. Locate the retainers securing the seat bottom into the vehicle, approximately 10 inches from the end of the cushion, either side. Use your thumb to push in retainer release tab. Lift the seat up to remove.
  2. Remove the two 13mm screws securing the seat back, located on each lower corner. Lift seat upward to release seat back from brackets at the top. You can carefully prop the seat back under the retracted top , use caution if choosing this method not to damage or scratch the vinyl of the seat. You can remove the seat from the vehicle completely by disengaging the flanges securing the top of the rear seat to the fabric of the convertible top well .
  3. Remove Quarter Trim Panels:
    1. Grip the Quarter Trim Panel Cap at the shoulder strap opening and lift up to dislodge the retaining clips.
    2. The inside Quarter Trim Panels are two-piece panels. Remove the upper portion of the Quarter Trim Panel from the vehicle; it is not necessary to remove the lower portion. Pull the forward edge of the trim Panel over the pinch weld in the doorjamb.
    3. Use a Door Trim Tool (Fork Tool) to dislodge the pushpin retainer at the rear edge of the Trim Panel approximately 4” down from the top, pry Trim Panel toward the outside of car to release retainer.

Removing Rear Seats in a Mustang
Attempting to remove the rear seats in a mustang can initially seem like trying to solve a puzzle, as there are no obvious bolts or clips securing the seat in place. However, removing the rear seat assembly is actually a fairly simple task. The assembly actually consists of two pieces: the upper portion and the lower portion. Once the lower portion has been removed, the bolts which secure the upper portion in place can be accessed and removed, and the seat lifted away.

Removing the Bottom Portion of the Seat
The most challenging part of removing the back seat is removing the lower portion of the seat assembly, the lower portion meaning the part of the seat where the passenger sits on top of. The lower portion of the seat assembly sits in place, as opposed to being bolted to the Mustang. Underneath the front of the bottom portion of the seat are two metal bars, one bar located on either side of the assembly. These bars slide behind two metal pieces that have been welded into the floor of the Mustang. To remove the bottom portion of the assembly, it is necessary to detach the two metal bars from the two metal pieces on the floor. To do so, position yourself on the middle of the rear floor so that you are facing the back seat. Place one hand on in the middle of the left and right sides of the lower seat portion. Push the lower portion of the back seat towards the back of the Mustang while simultaneously pushing in an upward direction. This back and up motion will dislodge the lower seat portion from the floor of the Mustang. Once dislodged, simply pull the lower portion of the seat out of the vehicle.

Removing the Upper Portion of the Seat
The upper portion of the seat assembly, meaning the portion where the passenger's back rests against, is held in place with two 3/8-inch bolts. These two bolts secure the bottom of the upper seat assembly to the body of the Mustang, and are revealed once the lower portion of the seat assembly has been removed. These bolts must be removed with a wrench to free the bottom portion of the upper seat assembly. As for the upper portion, it is first necessary to remove the two plastic pieces which are used to cover the seam on the package tray. The package tray is located between the upper portion of the back seat assembly and the rear windshield. The two plastic pieces are located on either side of the upper portion of the back seat. These plastic pieces simply slide off of the seam of the package tray. With the plastic pieces removed, the upper portion of the back seat assembly can removed by lifting it straight up.

How to remove rear seat on 2003 mustang convertible

There are two latches for a full size seat. One on each side of the car. Grab the seat and push back towards the truck and pull it up at the same time. they can be difficult. Some of the older models have bolts you have to remove. Run your fingers under the seat, they are located in the middle of where you sit.

The rear seat back is help in place by 2 self tapping bolts on the lower left and right of the seat back near the floor, if I remember correctly you'll need a 10mm socket. Remove the 2 bolt and lift up to remove the seat back. When re installing the seat back do not over tighten the bolts they have a tendency to strip.

I NEED TO REMOVE THE FRONT SEAT HEADRESTS FROM A 2004 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE.

Lift the headrest to it highest postion. Insert a thin stick parallel to the head rest bar (the side facing the rear of the vechicle) I used a thin paint stirring stick, a Slim Jim is ideal.
Once the stick is inserted (10" give or take) push the head rest down holding the stick steady, then pull the headrest back up and it will come off the seat.
Hope this helps.

Remove the back seat from chevy celebrty 1987

Push lower end of rear seat back to unlock clips (takes a bit of effort)
Lift bench out
Should be clips or bolts holding the top of the rear seat - release these
Push up on the upper section of seat to release top clips.
in some car models
Remove the 10mm bolt behind the bench near the seat belt fastening sight and then lift the seat up from the back to the front..towards the front seats. The clips are angled down and in so that the back has to lift up first.
This will help. Thanks please keep updated. please please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

How do i remove the back seat to my 2000 ford mustang gt convertible?

On the seat bottom left and right of center there's a release clip. (see photo) Carefully push the release with a flat screw driver and pull up doing one side at a time.
Once the seat bottom is removed there's 2 bolts holding the seat back in place, remove the bolts and lift the seat back straiting up.

How do we install the back seat of a 1987 ford mustang? We have the seats bolted to the side but there is something likie a pin or somthing missing? Does anyone have a pic of what it looks like?

there should be hooks on the car to hook the seat into it takes some fighting to do but the hooks are punched into the metal sheet that your seat bolts too. just look for the horse shoe shape cutout. it should be there
