What weight oil are you running in your bike? Years ago when we ran the straight 60 weight oil, on a cold morning you had a time kick starting the bike. Another thing is that when your bike is cold, it requires a much richer mixture to run. Whether your bike is fuel injected or carburated, you're running a very rich mixture. The fuel system control or the enricher provides the rich mixture and a rich mixture will make the bike run sluggishly.

Just went thru a cold spell. Battery is at 80% but the starter just clicks. I have not ridden in a while so I am wondering if something is siezed up. It is a 2004 1150r with 7K miles

80% battery is pretty low, it certainly needs a charge.

If you think the motor may be set up from sitting, sit on the bike and put it in high gear. Rock it gently forward and backward, just enough to bump the motor each way. If it is, indeed, set up, just keep bumping it gently each way. The longest it has taken me to free up a bike motor that's set up from sitting was about ten minutes.

As long as you turn a stuck motor both ways, and do it gently and a little at a time, you'll never break anything. It's the forcing it in one direction only that breaks stuff.

Hi, I just picked up an '02 Kaw Meanstreak 1500 with 17,000 miles. It runs great. The owner claimed the bike had been running dino lube in it from the get go. I am not sure if I should run 20/50 or...

Hi, Boulevardrid 20/50 is for moderate to hot weather riding 10/40 is for moderate to cold weather riding and yes to the Mobil 1 the oil Gods claim synthetic oil is better than dino oil I run full synthetic in my bikes and cars.
For this situation, I would call or visit my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry.

How do i change and drain the motor oil for a 2001 Harley Heritage Springer model?

remove the dip stick(right side of bike) for free flow, drain plug is under rear swing arm bottom of frame, not the one under primary, once drained, remove oil filter in frount of motor(u might need a special iol filter wrench), u will get oil on motor, cover with something. once all drained, fill at dipstick till where it is at full mark on stick(about 3 1/2 qaurts). run bike foe about 10 min., then shut off and recheck, add more if needed.

Here's an article on probable causes:

I also recall plusrecipes.com having a small auto section where they offer great deals, like free estimates from local auto specialists in your area, whom I would think would be able to assist you in diagnosing the problem and having it fixed before it gets worse--heck right now one ad-link says you could save like 50% through what I read as competitive bidding or something like that--here's the link:

Yeah, so call around or use the above link. I hope this is helpful. Good luck!

I am bidding on a 2002 Suzuki GSXR at an aution, what is a good starting bid? The bike is in pretty good shape.

Cheryl, it depends on what part of the world and the condition of the bike. If it had only very minor scratches on the body, had never been wrecked, and had less than 15,000 miles on it I would start at $1500 and go no higher than $4000.

Doesnt sound like anything out of the ordinary.  The only things you can do to help remedy that more is run synthetic oil get a right hand side air scoop or cut vents into your undertail panel.,,

97 Gmc Savana,6.5 turbo diesel vacuum pump not rotating

If the pump is not rotating all the time then it's due for replacement. They are not supposed to stop while engine is running. 227K miles is a lot of miles for any engine component.
