Turns over but dose not start, spark plug sparking ok

Check you have petrol if the bike has not been run for sometime replace the fuel. Petrol ages and causes all manner of problems.
Are you trying to start the bike but it has gone onto reserve, move the fuel tap to the reserve position then try to start it. If the above fails, then try these:-
Is the spark plug wet when removed. If dry it sounds like the petrol is not getting through. Try opening the filler cap and leave it open, make sure the kill switch is in the run position. Try starting with the throttle full open. Does the bike have a manual choke try to start with the throttle shut, choke off, then full on, then while continuing to turn over move the choke lever in stages from fully on to fully off. I find on my Yam TW125 (winter and bad weather hack) that if I have not used it for a while sharp twist the throttle a couple of times no more than a third of a turn. Hope this helps.

Replace headers, power Com V and auto tune but leaking petrol?

Hi, Greg love that first name, you need "FIVE" things in order for a cylinder to run properly:
1. FUEL: in order to validate your not getting fuel spray some starting fluid into the air cleaner and hit the starter button, if it fires up and runs for a few seconds then you know you have a fuel delivery issue. Multi carbs bank should be bench "SYNC"
2. SPARK: remove the spark plug and with it connected to the spark plug cable ground the threads to something metal you should see a bluish white spark if not you have a faulty spark plug, spark plug cable, ignition coil, condenser, CKP, ECM, sensor or the wiring in between.
3. COMPRESSION: you must have at least 80-100 PSI for most bikes, multi-cylinder engines should be within 10-15% of each other if not perform a leak down test you may have a burnt or bent valve or hole in the piston or broken rings.
4. CAM TIMING: confirm your timing marks are aligned to see if the cam chain or adjuster are worn out and the chain has skipped a couple teeth.
5. IGNITION TIMING: on older bikes check to see if your points have not closed up, timing plate has not become loose and confirm with a timing light for proper retard and advance functions, on newer bikes where timing is controlled by an ECM and is nonadjustable check you CKP, TPS, MAP, O2, sensor or its counterpart for integrity.

Coyote crx 50cc kids bike will not start, its a pull cord start and i have never managed to start it from new. It has fuel, it gets a spark, although it doesnt seem to be a very strong spark. Please s

Hi, Assuming the bike has been run before you owned it, pull off the exhaust pipe and try starting it. If it starts and runs, don't let it it run much more than 10 seconds or so. This will tell you that you have a classical clogged exhaust system. The pipes on little two-stroke engines are very small and easily get filled with wet gooey carbon deposits. White kerosene is affordable and works good for cleaning. Plug on end of pipe and fill from the other end untill it is full and let soak for a period. The best approach is to take apart the pipe to clean really thoroughly. Hope this helps. Denis

Bike stops repeatedly after every 2, 3 Kms like petrol is over and starts again in 1 or 2 seconds. i changed my spark plug and its cap, magnet coil but the problem presists.

clean your carburetor and airfilters.then replace Your spark with NGK.i prefer NGK..clean ur fuel tank also maybe some dust particles of petrol can be there in tank also.check the flow of petrol from tank.if problem persists check your starting coil, rectifiers and wiring.and tel me onething at wat speed the bike is getting stopped?mail me vishnuyzf@gmail.com

Bike sparking and compression ok cannot start bike when cold this year any solutions thanks bike is year 1981

Either the spark is at the wrong timing when you would hear backfiring or coughing at least,if not it is fuel related
Check the reed valves are closing proerly, that the carb & jets are clean, & they have FRESH petrol
It sounds like it may not have run in 6 months or so in which time petrol goes off ( water can get in to petrol quicker giving the same effect

Hope this helps (if so please mark as helpful !!)

I am having starting problem with Honda Activa. It does not start even after using several kick starts. I have checked petrol flow, spark plug. Please let me know how to solve the problem?

Check to see if you are getting any spark to the plug. You can get the testers for a few buck at Auto Zone (spark plug cable inserts into it and then you push the contact pin into the cable) when you kick start the bike the tester should light up, if it doesn't you may have a bad coil or the wiring to it may be loose/disconnected.
