What causes gas in crankcase

Gas in your crankcase is typically a sign of carburetor floats not set correctly. They allow too much fuel into the bowl which then overflows and goes into the cylinder and leak down past the piston rings and into your crankcase.

Why would gas be in oil pan

Severely worn piston rings can force fuel into the crankcase during the compression stroke. If this were the case, you should essentially have a dead cylinder though, as the compression in that cylinder would be negligible. More likely cause is leaking fuel injector filling cylinder after vehicle shutdown until fuel system pressure bleeds off, then washing down side of cylinder wall into crankcase.

This sounds like it is an older vehicle with a cam driven fuel pump mounted to the block. If so the fuel pump is bad and leaking fuel into the crankcase.

Makita dpc7311 leaks at crank

The DPC7311 is a two-stroke demolition saw, there should be no standing fluids, oil or otherwise in the crank case to leak out. The reason it uses a 50-to-1 gas-to-oil mix is so the oil in the gas can settle on the moving parts and lubricate them.
If you do have anything leaking anywhere out of your crankcase you most likely have problems with your carburator in that too much fuel is getting into and filling up the crankcase.
You should also look to make sure your leak isn't coming from a crack in the fuel tank or from the carburator or fuel line and running down to look like it's coming from the crankcase.

My 2006 vthunder classic will not start.i cannot get it to fire.just spins over but not starting. is there a fuse box on this bike?

Possibly the gas has flooded out the carburetor. Happened to me.

I don't know if it's the vacuum fuel pump leaking gas or the carburetor valves sticking slightly open. My solution was to have an on-off petcock installed upstream of the carburetor, just in front of the right side chrome side plate. I turn off the gas whenever I park the bike. So far that has worked, although I have other (unrelated) problems with this bike. The mechanic had to dry out the carb and check the crankcase oil in case gas had leaked into it.

This bike has a petcock system that is always on. It has normal and reserve positions (down and up) which let gas flow to upstream of the fuel pump and then a center prime position which feeds directly to the carburetor, in case vacuum from the starter cranking doesn't drive enough gas through the fuel pump, after the carburetor has dried out from sitting idle.

Have 307 86 gas in oil some pinging not really knocking or ticking. possibly diaphragm on gas pump allowing this through crank case or what should i do

there are only so many ways for gas to get into the someone purposely pured gas into the crankcase.two the engine is running very rich and not able to burn the excess gas,three the fuel pump is leaking gas into the crankcase,four the oil has not been changed regularly and the gas has thinned out to the point that it cannot seal the engine from the gas that normally is burned in the combustion chamber.If maintenance is regularly performed that fixes #4,I doubt that anyone would pour gas into the crankcase especially at the price of gas that fixes #1,if the carburetor is working as it was designed to then that eliminates running rich and fixes #2.if the above is good then the only thing left the fuel pump, can leak fuel into the crankcase and they won`t make noise far as the slight pinging one of two things can cause this, the engine is running slightly lean and or the timing is too advanced and needs to be reset to specs

Fuel leaking into crankcase on 2001 Honda CBR 600 F4i, Bike sat for 3 years tank had rusted religned inside of tank and changed fuel pump however when religning tank i filled vent tube so the tank didn't...

it's probably leaking from the carb and down the cylinder into the crankcase.
it is probably due to a stuck float in the carb. take the float bowl off and make sure it is clean. the float can also be full of gas not letting it float up and stop the gas flow. the carb will fill up and leak wherever it can which is likely the case

How come the gas mixes with the oil then when u drive it it shuts off

it seems to be a fuel related problem. the gas should not be going into the crankcase. It is leaking into the crankcase . The fuel system is somehow leaking into the crankcase because of excessive flooding, or other fuel related problem like a gasket . don't drive the car like that.

Hi there

You should not have oil leaking from the carby. If you have over filled it with oil, then it may be coming from the crankcase breather and then into the airbox, and appearing to come from the carby. If you have not over filled it, then the bike may have blowby problems with compression gasses passing the rings, and in a similar manner forcing oil out the crankcase breather. Not sure about the hole in the side of the cylinder... do you have a picture? Unless its pouring out, or gets worse, I would not be too worried. If you have over filled the oil, maybe time for an oil change to get the level right.
